See the faults and harms of troubles

People in the world often think: "This man has harmed me countless times. He stabbed my body with a knife, slandered me with bad words, and snatched all my property. When I was doing business, I also created obstacles from it. He is my irreconcilable enemy!"The "Madhyamaka Treasures" talks about nine kinds of objections of anger, which are nothing more than harming me and my relatives and friends.People think that this kind of person is their enemies, and then they become angry with him. But in fact, when they truly analyze it with wisdom, their harm is not too excessive or serious, because no matter how they are, they cannot let us fall into the hell of the infinite years and feel the pain of boiling and cutting.

But the enemy of trouble is completely different from it, how is it different?As we have also analyzed before, troubles abide in our hearts. If there is no strict protection, once it breaks out, it is easy for us to break the precepts due to greed, or slander the stern object such as the Vajra Master due to hatred, and commit the five sins of immortality.Driven by troubles, if we commit such evil karma, we will not only destroy all the good roots in this life, but will also fall into hell in the next life and suffer in the blazing fire in every life.

The pain of hell is incomparable to any kind of pain in the world.In the book of relatives and friends, Bodhisattva Longmeng said: In this world, three hundred short spears are constantly stabbed into the body violently throughout the day. This pain is very terrible. However, compared with the slightest pain in all hells (the pain of resurrection hell), this pain is not as good as it is, and it cannot be compared with the slightest pain in all hells (the pain of resurrection hell).Since the pain of resurrection hell is so unbearable, let alone the pain of burning hell and Avici Hell.

The blazing flames in the hot hell are very fierce and hot. Even if you encounter the very hard Mount Sumeru, it will turn into ashes in an instant. Even the dust may not be left behind, and it will completely turn into a void.It can be seen that the heat of hellfire is incomparable to any high temperature in the world.Sometimes we can think like this: if a small spark splashes on our body, we will be so hot that we will be crying and crying, or we will be crying and crying with acupuncture when we are slightly touched by the flames. However, in hell, the blazing fire has been burning my body for millions of years, making me die and live, and die again and again. Who can bear the pain of toss and turns?

Any enemy in the world can at most put me in prison or leave the world. Although this kind of pain is very unbearable, it is impossible to suffer for generations after it is over.The enemy of troubles, whether it is greed, anger, or jealousy, has the ability to throw me into the Avici Hell. Therefore, you must not regard troubles as your close friend, and must do your best to deal with it.In the "Sutra of Liberation", the Buddha said: "If you encounter a poisonous snake, at most it will be a loss of life. However, if you violate the precepts without treating afflictions, you will suffer in hell for ten thousand kalpas."So we should try our best to eliminate our own troubles.Of course, when talking about the uncommon views of Mahayana, there is also the saying that "afflictions are Bodhi", but as far as we are concerned, we have not yet reached this state, so when afflictions arise, we should try our best to deal with them.

《The Dharma Sutra says: "Thousands of enemies are enemies, and one person will defeat them. If you won't be able to defeat yourself, you will be the best in the battle."It means that even if a person defeats millions of enemies and is called an amazing hero by people, it is better to overcome his own troubles and become a true wise man or practitioner.Later in the "Preliminary Practice of Great Perfection", Hua Zhi Rinpoche also quoted some secrets from Atisha and said: "If there are troubles in the continuum, this is not a veritable practitioner;If you can destroy and cure troubles, this is the true practitioner."So as a practitioner, we must first see the faults of troubles and know the harm they are to us, so that we will naturally not be with it.

For example, if we see a piece of clothing and at first think it looks good, but later we know that it is made of fur by killing animals, we will lose interest in the clothing.By the same token, practitioners should first recognize the faults of troubles.However, many people in the world are not like this. Not only do they not feel that their worries are terrible, but they praise it.People who are very greedy will praise beauties of all manners;People with a strong sense of hatred will praise heroes who are brave and fearless;People with a very ignorant mind will praise those who know how to enjoy, sleep, and live a life.Many of the ideas of people in the world are completely different from those of us practitioners. They praise all the "merits" of troubles, and we rely on the wisdom of Buddhism to analyze them, and there is indeed no component that is worthy of praise!
