Three levels of willingness

Life philosophy 2015-02-07

The understanding of shedding is divided into three levels.

The first level: be willing to give up, be reluctant to give up.Mr. Jia Pingwa wrote an article about "Give up". In his opinion, the world is the composition of yin and yang, and living in the world is the process of giving up and getting. As Mr. Pingao said: Those who can live or successful people actually understand these two words: willing to give up.I am reluctant to let go, I am willing to give up small things, and I am willing to give up big things.

However, this is just an understanding of the general sense of "going to give up".

The second level of giving up: giving up means getting.Snakes have grown up through shedding, and people have matured through experience.Giving and gain are like water and fire, heaven and earth, yin and yang, which are mutually generated and restrained, complement each other, and achieve harmony in the unity of opposites. This is no different from the meaning of "form is not different from emptiness, emptiness is not different from form, form is emptiness, emptiness is form" in the Heart Sutra.Contains an ancient and profound dialectic.

However, when we say "giving means gain", we are still obsessed with "geting".

The third level of willingness should be "no gain"."Give up" means that there is nothing to give up, and there is nothing to gain. This is called "Give up".Therefore, the Diamond Sutra says: The mind should be born without attachment.

Chen Boya of the Qing Dynasty had a couplet: You can be content and always be comfortable, and you will be proud of yourself when you have no desires.

The "no desire" mentioned here is to warn people to abandon their utilitarianism and impetuousness, not to be bound by external things, and not to be blocked by clouds, so as to obtain a kind of freedom and tranquility that is transcendent to the outside world.

“Without being indifferent, one cannot show one's ambition, and without being quiet, one cannot achieve far-reaching one's ambition."If you do nothing and do everything, you can only pursue something if you don't want something. This is the highest state of "no desire".Instead of the negative attitude and mediocre philosophy of not being enterprising and mediocre.

“Do things with high standards and be low-key."A noble person, a person who is beneficial to society, must be a person with high requirements in work and career and low standards in life.Only by abandoning the shackles of fame and fortune, and wholeheartedly pursuing noble careers and perfect life can one be open-minded and achieve great achievements.
