In the past, Venerable Mahakasyapa attained the Samadhi of Liberation and entered deep meditation. In order to make those who have shallow blessings in the flow of life and death, they can sow good causes and obtain infinite blessings. Therefore, one morning, the Venerable Kasyapa specially put the sangha lily garment given by the Buddha to beg for food in the settlement.Seeing Mahakasyapa wearing Dharma clothes, majestic and quiet, calm and peaceful, his behavior, his words and deeds radiate, and his compassion and wisdom, people couldn't help but admire: That person is Mahakasyapa. He was wearing a monk, and he was solemn and meticulous. When he heard that the Buddha preached, he specially divided half of the seats for Mahakasyapa to sit with him before the human and heavenly masses.

At that time, the Buddha also praised Venerable Kashyapa with a verse: Now you practice good deeds, like the moon growing, like a move in the air, without any obstacles, your body is like pure water, without any dust. The Buddha always praises his merits in front of the crowd.Even in the future, when Maitreya became a Buddha, he praised him and told the public: This is Muni, a disciple of asceticism, with the twelve heads of the twelve heads. Among the few desires to be content, the most famous is Kashyapa, and this is called Kashyapa.In front of the Eight Divisions of Human and Heaven, praise their merits.

Indra was seen from afar that Venerable Mahakasyapa walked peacefully and celebrating from afar in the Heavenly Palace.Indra's concubine, named Shezhi, looked aside and asked: Who did the Heavenly King meet today?Why so respectful?Indrama replied: Although Sakyamuni disciple Mahakasyapa married an unparalleled golden wife before becoming a monk, he was chanting the Tao in his heart, and the couple had no attachment to the same family;After becoming a monk, you will keep the precepts pure, rely on meditation, and be happy in Dharma. You will plow the land of your heart with wisdom, and you will be able to eliminate all evil views, bad and ignorant grasses, and you will obtain the true fruit of liberation. This is the most respected and most supreme field of blessings in the world. If you can offer it to others, the blessings you will receive will definitely be extraordinary and permanent.

The queen of heaven gave up her and looked at Indra and exclaimed: King of Heaven, you are in a noble position and still have the kindness to cultivate blessings. It is really rare!Indrama replied in a verse: Because of the cause and effect of giving, I am the most free. Asuras of heaven and man love, respect me, and remember giving day and night, so I have such arisen, as if I have many treasures and all treasures are full of them.

So Indra became a poor old cloth weaving man, and the queen's wife also turned into an old woman. The two of them wore tattered and bad clothes, and the couple followed each other and sat on the side of the Tongzhuang Road. The Venerable must go to rest on the road.The Venerable saw the old Master Zhi and his wife, who were poor and poor, and thought to herself: There will be no more than these two people in the world.So I walked over, hoping to explain the truth and comfort them.

When the old weaver saw the venerable coming, he quickly got up and held the venerable's bowl, filled the venerable's food, and respectfully worshiped the venerable.When the Venerable saw the food in the bowl, he immediately became suspicious and said a verse: That person is extremely poor and humble, and his food is wonderful. This matter is surprising and suspicious, which is extremely inverted.

The Venerable then looked at it with a wise eye and found that the old Weaver Master was the incarnation of Indra, and said: King of Heaven, you are really happy to cultivate blessings!This is convenient for seeking honor and victory.Today, he gave up his honor and victorious appearance and appeared as a poor man. He was wearing this bad clothes, and was weak and old. He was far away from the Heavenly Palace and turned to the edge of the Tao.The Venerable said again: Now I want all beings without blessings to plant a field of blessing and achieve victorious blessings, and stay away from poverty in the future.King, you have already had all the blessings. Why do you still need to provide food to me for my blessings?

At that time, Indra was restored to heaven and went up to bow to the Lord, saying this verse: I have received rewards and won all kinds of victories, and my resources have been vast, and I have been born from faith.Why do great virtue block me?I will encourage me to practice with a verse:

People who hear that those who give can still give can still give alms, and even if I see the reward of giving, I can clearly prove myself.Parents and relatives and friends, help them benefit, are unable to give, and are free from the suffering of life and death.Giving rewards are like shadows, with peace and happiness everywhere, life and death are in danger, and only giving is followed by giving.In the rain, wind, cold and snow, only giving can bring happiness, just like walking on a dangerous road, with strict resources.Giving can make you tired, and you can take advantage of the peace of mind. It is difficult for you to be a thief. Giving can be a good companion.Giving to eliminate all fears and fears is the strongest among the public. If you are in the middle of grudges, Giving is a sharp sword.The best medicine is to eliminate serious illnesses and to move in uneven areas. Use it as a stick.

After Indrama finished speaking this verse and respectfully offered to Venerable Mahakasyapa, he returned to the Heavenly Palace.

The Venerable Kashyapa thought of compassion, so that sentient beings with shallow blessings can be cultivated and escape poverty.Indra was deeply convinced of the extraordinary merits of giving, and did not hesitate to turn into a poor old man, just to grasp the cause and condition to offer to Venerable Kashyapa.The sutra says: All the powers in the world are wandering among the heavens and man, and the power of blessings is the most powerful, and blessings are achieved through blessings.The Buddha had complete blessings and wisdom and his merits were perfect. In the past, he was also a ill-willed monk who had been threading needles and refused to give up any cause of cultivating blessings.

Therefore, practitioners should diligently cultivate blessings and wisdom without any fatigue.Use this to overcome the sea of suffering of life and death and reach the other shore of ultimate liberation.
