春天，不是季节，而是内心

生命，不是躯体，而是心性

老人，不是年龄，而是心境

人生，不是岁月，而是永恒

Spring is not just a season,but a state of mind.

Life is not in body only,but also in the mind.

Old age does not mean living many years,but thinking you are old.

Our lives are measured by eternity,not years.

观晚霞悟其无常，因为夕阳近黄昏

观白云悟其卷舒，因为云出岫无心

观山岳悟其灵奇，因为远观山无色

观河海悟其浩瀚，因为海水碧连天

The setting sun teaches impermanence.

Clouds teach change.

Mountains teach grandeur.

Oceans teach infinity.

河以蜿蜒能远，故渊源流长

山以重迭能高，故嶙峋峻拔

气以进出能平，故四通八达

Rivers are long when they twist.

Mountains are high when thrust up.

Minds are encompassing when spacious.

Air flows easily when breathed in peace.

日有升沉起落，故有晚霞余映

月有阴晴圆缺，故有皓月当空

人有悲欢离合，故有聚散情缘

世有苦空无常，故有真理示现

Sunrise and sunset give us rose-pink clouds.

The changing month gives us a bright full moon.

The sorrow of parting and joy of meeting let us cherish the time we are together.

The suffering,emptiness,and impermanence of the world manifest the truth.

因为有过去，才有现在

因为有现在，才有未来

因为有未来，才有三世

因为有三世，才有希望

With past life,the present life is possible.

With present life,the future life is possible.

With future life,three lives are complete.

With three lives,there is hope.

老人的生命：危脆不安

老人的不幸：卧床不起

老人的愚痴：有钱不用

老人的幸福：心中有佛

The life of the elderly is frail.

It is sad when the elderly are bedridden.

It is foolish when the elderly hoard their money.

It is happy when the elderly remember the Buddha.

柔美的音乐，使生活和谐

森林的鸟鸣，使自然悠远

清雅的馨香，使环境怡然

无声的沉寂，使世界安适

Tender music keeps life harmonious.

Birdsong in the forest keeps nature wonderful.

Pure incense makes the environment pleasurable.

Silence keeps the world comfortable.

珍惜生命者，感叹人生苦短

挥霍生命者，埋怨人生苦长

认识生命者，了悟人生苦多

主宰生命者，不惧人生苦空

Those who cherish life sigh that it is too short.

Those who squander life whine that it is too long.

Those who understand life know it is suffering.

Those who master life are not afraid of suffering and emptiness.

我看花，花自缤纷

我见树，树自婆娑

我览境，境自去来

我观心，心自如如

Flowers are by nature beautiful.

Trees are by nature vital.

The world is by nature transient.

The mind is by nature dynamic.

一花一木都有生命

一山一水都有生机

一人一事都有道理

一举一动都有因果

Every tree and flower has a purpose.

Every mountain and stream has a place.

Every occasion has a reason.

Every cause has an effect.

宇宙合乎自然，就有生命

万物合乎自然，就能成长

世事合乎自然，就可形成

人心合乎自然，就是善美

The cosmos exists because it obeys its nature.

A being that obeys his nature thrives.

A venture that obeys its nature bears rich fruit.

A mind that obeys its nature is gentle and fair.

好花，不在于美丽，而在于清香

好刀，不在于庞大，而在于锋利

好话，不在于夸口，而在于真实

衣服，不在于贵重，而在于合身

Good flowers need not be pretty,but must be fragrant.

Good knives need not be long,but must be sharp.

Good words need not brag,but must be true.

Good clothing need not be costly,but must fit.

蜂蝶飞舞在芬芳的花朵间

莺鸟栖息在高大的乔木里

凤凰振翅于挺直的梧桐上

海龙泅泳于深广的大海中

色身居住在有形的房屋内

法身悠游在无边的法界里

The butterfly dances amid scented flowers.

The oriole nests in great trees.

The phoenix flies round the firmiana.

The dragon plies boundless seas.

We play in tiny little houses.

But the Dharma body fills infinite space.

松涛拍岸，鸟叫虫鸣

无非是悟道的契机

夏涧秋谷，春花冬雪

无非是真理的示现

The sound of wind in the pines,like waves,birdsong,and insects,inspires enlightenment.

Summer brook,autumn valley,spring flower,and winter snow are manifestations of truth.

四大五蕴的假合之身，孰能无病

生老病死的无常过程，谁能免除

无病之道无他，只要证悟法身

无常之理好解，只要去妄归真

With physical bodies made of four elements and five aggregates,how can we always be will?

With birth,aging,sickness,and death,how can we be rid of imper-manence?

To be well,realize the Dharma body.

To realize impermanence,get rid of delusion and follow truth.

树正不怕月影斜

梁正不怕屋瓦倾

行正不怕人来谤

心正不怕魔来扰

A sturdy tree does not fear the slanted moonlight.

A stout beam does not fear the sloping roof tiles.

An honest man is not bent by slander.

A virtuous mind is not broken by demons.

人间的苦恼重重

肇因于我见、人见、众生见

世界的风云多变

起源于事执、法执、人我执

The world's troubles arise from false distinctions between self and others.

The world's troubles arise from attachment to phenomena,whereby we attribute real existence and permanence to things.

错误比不过道理

道理比不过法治

法治比不过权力

权力比不过因果

Error cannot defeat reason.

Reason cannot defeat law.

Law cannot defeat power.

Power cannot defeat the law of causality.

一念善心 佛陀看得到，菩萨看得到

一点恶意 魔鬼看得到，业报看得到

When you have a good will,the Buddhas and the Bodhisattvas see it.

When you have an ill will,the devil sees it and the karmic retribution finds it.

有信仰的人最富贵

有道德的人最安心

有修行的人最有力

有智慧的人最通达

Those who have faith in religion are the wealthiest.

Those who are virtuous can be the most peaceful in their minds.

Those who practice well are the most powerful.

Those who are intelligent are the most perspicuous.

探究前世的宿命 不如把握眼前的善缘

追查来世的因果 不如谨慎当下的行为

In the midst of this life,don't puzzle over the life before.

In the midst of this life,don't worry about life to come.

求神通，不如求慈悲 神通有利有害，慈悲则无往不利

求财富，不如求般若 财富有善有恶，般若则无有不善

Better to cultivate compassion than supernatural power.Such power can be good or bad,but compassion is always good.

Better to cultivate prajna than wealth.Money can be good or bad,but prajna is always good.

能观众生苦，即与佛眼相应

能说善妙语，即与佛口相应

能做不请友，即与佛身相应

能行利生事，即与佛心相应

Seeing,we are the Buddha's eye.

Soothing,we are the Buddha's tongue.

Embracing,we are the Buddha's arm.

Healing,we are the Buddha's mind.

心意柔和身自在

眼耳清净心自闲

天伦团聚家自乐

世道公正民自安

A tender mind is a comfort to the body.

A mind is not troubled when eyes and ears are at rest.

A family gathering is a fountain of happiness.

A happy socicty is virtuous and fair.

妄心妄境，如鱼吞钩，痛楚割截身心

真心正念，不被钩牵，功如圆满明月

The deluded mind twists on a fishhook.

The pure mind is the bright full moon.

无心是极乐

无我成好事

无住严熟土

无生功德生

Non-self gains merits.

Non-arising gains merits.

Non-abiding breings you to the pureland.

Detachment brings you to ultimate bliss.

贪心不能致富

喜舍才能多福

利他不忘自谦

自谦才能度众

Greed cannot make fortune.

Joyful giving can bring good fortune.

Be modest when benefiting others.

Modesty can help save sentient beings.

鱼以海洋为家

鸟以山林为家

人以屋舍为家

道以空无为家

The abode of fish is the sea.

The abode of birds is the forest.

The abode of people is houses.

The abode of practice and cultivation is the realization of the nature of emptiness.

正义行事，公理不会长久湮没

心存善念，果报必然早晚现前

Justice will not sleep long.

Karmic retribution will ripen sooner or later.

喜舍摄伏贪欲，行喜舍，可以广结善缘

慈悲化解瞋恨，修慈悲，可以积聚福德

Joyful giving subdues greed and makes good affinity.

Compassion dissolves hate and accumulates merits.

船行的路是海洋

明灯的路是夜晚

人行的路是善事

成道的路是悲智

Ships sail the ocean path.

Light shows us the path at night.

Good deeds show us the path of righteousness.

Compassion and intelligence show us the path to enlightenment.

因果不可昧：善有善报，恶有恶报，不是不报，时辰未到

真理不可欺：真真假假，假假真真，真假之后，必有平衡

We cannot oppose the law of causality;good and evil will have their karmic retribution when their time comes.

We cannot oppose the truth;true and false,real and fake will be redressed in time.

有佛法的地方就有慈悲

有佛法的地方就有般若

有佛法的地方就有信仰

有佛法的地方就有办法

Where there is Dharma,there is compassion.

Where there is Dharma,there is prajna.

Where there is Dharma,there is faith.

Where there is Dharma,there is the way.

欲望是第一海

愚痴是第一闇

瞋忌是第一怨

疑妒是第一障

The deepest desire is the hardest to quench.

Ignorance brings the deepest darkness.

Hatred causes the worst resentment.

Jealousy causes the greatest hindrance.

有过必有罚

有功必有赏

有种必有收

有业必有报

Where there is error,there is punishment.

Where there is achievement,there is award.

Where there is palnting,there is harvest.

Where there is karmic action,there is karmic retribution.

平安就是福报

功德就是寿命

知足就是富贵

适情就是自在

Whoever has health has good fortune.

Whoever has merit has life.

Whoever is content has wealth and hobility.

Whoever is at ease is carefree.

聪明者不迷

正见者不邪

有容者不妒

心静者不烦

Wise people are not deluded.

Those who know Buddhism are not corrupted.

Magnanimous people are not jealous.

Serene people are not bothered by adversity.

涉世不难于变化，难于慎重

做事不难于敏达，难于深忍

发心不难于勇锐，难于持久

学道不难于慧解，难于证悟

In society,confronting challenges is easier than shrinking them.

In business,intelligence is easier than tolerance.

In practice,diligence at the beginning is easier than persistence to the end.

In Buddhism,understanding the teachings is easier than becoming enlightened.

道不学不明本源

戒不守不知过错

禅不参不识自性

迷不悟不能解脱

If you do not walk the path,you cannot realize your Buddha nature.

If you do not observe the precepts,you will not know your transgressions.

If you do not practice meditation,you cannot realize your true nature.

If you are not enlightened,you cannot liberate yourself from suffering.

忠信可以进德

庄敬可以避祸

宽恕可以延寿

信仰可以悟道

Loyalty and reliability enhance virtue.

Self-respect and self-reliance stave off misfortune.

Magnanimity prolongs life.

Faith leads to enlightenment.

贫病之时知朋友

患难之时识真情

进退之时懂分雨

得失之时通因果

Real friends help when you are poor or sick.

True friends stay with you in adversity.

Whether you advance or retreat,do it the right way.

Gain and loss follow the law of causality.

亲近良师闻法乐

闻法奉行安稳乐

安稳和合寂灭乐

寂灭离苦解脱乐

When you learn from good teachers,you can possess the Dharma joy.

When you practice the teaching,you can be peaceful and harmonious.

Peace and harmony lead to nirvana.

Nirvana brings the joy of liberation.

善恶报应是显露的法律

本心是非是内在的法律

世事伦常是共遵的法律

天理因果是最高的法律

Karmic retribution is the visible law.

Conscience is the inner law.

Custom is the common law.

Causality is the ultimate law.

心安茅屋稳

性定菜根香

世事静方见

人情淡始长

A peaceful mind abides joyfully in a hut.

An equable mind savors the simplest fare.

A tranquil mind comprehends the world.

A tolerant mind makes lifelong friendships.

化愚就是智

去迷就是悟

除恶就是善

离妄就是真

Transform stupidity to wisdom.

Banish ignorance to gain enlightenment.

Avoid evil to be good.

Abandon delusion to seek the truth.

水的仁慈能沐浴众生，可以泽及万物

水的义气能扬清激浊，可以荡涤污垢

水的勇猛能柔而坚强，可以弱而克刚

水的智慧能疏通江河，可以自成盈满

The compassion of water bathes and nurtures all sentient beings.

The justice of water purges defilement.

The courage of water tenderly subdues the stubborn.

The wisdom of water makes rivers flow.

父母田中种植孝养

师长田中种植恭敬

病患田中种植救护

三宝田中种植供养

Cultivate the merits of filial piety for your parents.

Cultivate the merits of respect for your teachers.

Cultivate the merits of caring for patients.

Cultivate the merits of offering to the Triple Gem.

想要得福先惜福

想要知福先行福

想要行福先有福

To gain merit,cherish merit first.

To cherish merit,know merit first.

To know merit,practice merit first.

To practice merit,have merit first.

守持戒法如璎珞，可以庄严身心

守持戒法如明灯，可以照破痴暗

守持戒法如甘霖，可以解除干旱

守持戒法如城池，可以抵挡魔外

Precepts are the jewels that adorn body and mind.

Precepts are light breaking through darkness.

Precepts are the rain after a drought.

Precepts are a moated castle holding off the enemy.

守持戒法如良药，可以医疗烦恼

守持戒法如水囊，可以解除干渴

守持戒法如明师，可以遵正方向

守持戒法如护照，可以方便远游

Precepts are medicine for defilement.

Precepts are water for thirst.

Precepts are teachers who show the way.

Precepts are passports to travel abroad.

能降伏贪瞋烦恼的人

才能得到法喜安乐

能体证无我空慧的人

才能达到涅槃解脱

Whoever can subdue greed,hatred,and delusion can possess Dharma joy.

Whoever can realize the nature of emptiness can reach nirvana and be liberated from suffering.

内心的昏闇，因忏悔而光明

无边的烦恼，因忏悔而止息

坚固的憍慢，因忏悔而柔软

覆藏的恐惧，因忏悔而安乐

Darkness of mind becomes bright through repentance.

Endless troubles cease through repentance.

Arrogance softens through repentance.

Hidden fear turns to happiness through repentance.

仇结的怨怼，因忏悔而解除

无明的嫉妒，因忏悔而包容

怠惰的放逸，因忏悔而勇猛

无尽的热恼，因忏悔而清凉

Hatred is purged through repentance.

Jealousy becomes magnanimity through repentance.

Laziness becomes courage through repentance.

Endless defilement ceases through repentance.

有情有义：于情义中，觉悟真理

有甘有苦：在甘苦中，领会无常

Be friendly and righteous to realize the truth.

Experience joy and suffering to realize the truth of impermanence.

动而后能活，静而后能明

大而后能容，空而后能有

虚而后能实，知而后能行

舍而后能得，爱而后能惜

Action goes with vigor.

Stillness goes with intelligence.

Spaciousness goes with magnanimity.

Emptiness goes with possessing.

Modesty goes with sincerity.

Knowledge goes with action.

Generosity goes with wealth.

Loving goes with cherishing.

世间的得失皆有前因，人生的苦乐都有所缘

Gain and loss,suffering and happiness,come from our past causes and conditions.

能以平等观看待一切众生，就是法界圆融

能以因缘观看待一切事物，都是缘起缘灭

Treat all being in the spirit of equality.

See everything through the principle of dependent origination.

行为的规范，是在道德

道德的实践，却在行为

Morality regulates our actions.

Actions carry out morality.

世间最大的财富不是黄金、钻石，应是信仰、道德

世间最大的财富不是房屋、土地，应是真心、佛性

The greatest wealth in the world is not gold or diamonds,but faith and morality.

The greatest wealth in the world is not an estate,but the true mind and the Buddha nature.

生命的去来，如同薪尽火传，生命的火苗永不停息

生死的转变，如同搬家乔迁，生命的主人仍是一样

Birth and death are like the fire passed from one burning log to another.The fire of life will never cease.

The changes in our lives are like moving from one house to another.

As the owner of the house,we are unchanged.

要远离「苦聚」，才能获得安乐

要知道「无常」，才能拥有希望

要懂得「无我」，才能融入大众

要明白「空性」，才能真空妙有

要消除「恶业」，才能美善人生

Avoid suffering to gain happiness.

Realize impermanence to gain hope.

Realize non-self to gain friendship.

Understand emptiness to gain from emptiness.

Avoid bad karma to gain a better life.

要识得「因果」，才能心甘情愿

要了透「缘起」，才能真相大白

要实践「中道」，才能安身立命

要证悟「般若」，才能自由自在

要圆满「涅槃」，才能究竟人生

Understand causality to face life bravely.

Understand dependent origination to see truth.

Walk the middle way for peace and stability.

Exercise prajna to be carefree.

Reach nirvana to perfect your life.

皈依佛，点亮心灵灯光，为自己建设了电力公司

皈依法，储蓄甘露法水，为自己营建了自来水厂

皈依僧，长养菩提花果，为自己开发了良田土地

Taking refuge in the Buddha,light up your minds and set up a power plant in yourselves.

Taking refuge in the Dharma,save the ambrosial water and set up a waterworks in yourselves.

Taking refuge in the Sangha,nurture the flower and fruit of enlightenment and cultivate an orchard in yourselves.

虚空无有定相，而又无所不相，所以能成其宽广

流水居高就下，而又不拘形式，所以能遍泽大地

Having no form,space can fill any void.

Having no form,water can nourish any field.

因为世事「无常」，所以文明才得以进步

因为生命「无常」，所以未来才抱有希望

Society's impermanence makes progress possible.

Life's impermanence makes future life possible.

能够「安住佛国」，是时「众苦不侵称极乐」

能够「远离轮回」，是时「自性弥陀是吾家」

能够「净念相续」，是时「六根坐莲台现」

能够「圆成佛果」，是时「西方净土随心生」

To abide in the Buddha's pureland of ultimate bliss,be free from defilements.

To end the cycle of birth and death,realize that your true nature is the same as Amitabha Buddha's.

To purify your thoughts,be free from the tyranny of six senses.

To attain Buddhahood,let your mind be absorbed by the pureland.

高山不辞土壤，故能成其高

大海不择细流，故能成其大

天地无私，故能覆载万物

真如无相，故能遍一切处

A mountain is high because it does not shun rocks.

An ocean is great because it does not shun streams.

Because heaven and earth are selfless,they contain everything.

Because Buddha nature is formless,it is everywhere.

用信心体验佛道

用慧解深入法海

用修持广结善缘

用证悟实践佛法

Experience the way of the Buddha through faith.

Delve into Buddhist teachings with intelligence and understanding.

Create good affinity with others through practice and cultivation.

Carry out Buddhist teachings until you attain enlightenment.

「无常」，因此明天可以会更好

「无我」，因此未来可能会更大

Impermanence makes tomorrow a better day.

Non-self brings hope to our future.

花的美丽，要将美丽的善心散满人间

花的芬芳，要将芬芳的爱心传播社会

花的清净，要将清净的真心供养十方

花的彩色，要将彩色的好心与人结缘

Like the beauty of a flower,spread the beauty of your heart to everyone.

Like the fragrance of a flower,spread the fragrance of your love to everyone.

Like the purity of a flower,offer the purity of your heart to everyone.

Like the color of the flower,make good affinity with your good heart.

有佛光普照之地，即是佛光净土

有法水常流之处，即是法性净土

有僧伽加被之田，即是福德净土

Where the Buddha's teaching shines,there is the pureland of Buddha's light.

Where the Dharma water flows,there is the pureland of Dharma nature.

Where the Sangha's blessing is,there is the pureland of fortune and virtue.

时间刹那，贯穿了去来三世

空间极微，包容了大千宇宙

Our past,present,and future lives can be seen in a single moment.

The whole universe is present in a tiny space.

天灾人祸是共业所感召，要消除灾难，必先消除自己的罪业

身心疾苦是烦恼所造成，要消除病苦，必先净化自己的身心

Natural and man-made disasters originate in the collective karma.To banish them,we must first purge our bad karma.

Physical and mental illness originates in defilement.To banish them,we must first purify our bodies and minds.

触目皆缘，无非人生机遇

信手拈来，无非佛法妙谛

What we misconstrue as luck is causes and conditions.

What we misconstrue as luck is explained by the Buddha's teachings.

「行善」是「教化」之初阶

「教化」是「行善」之目标

The pupil must first learn how to be good.

The teacher must first teach how to be good.

「平等的主张」，可以消弭对人间的不公平

「人本的思想」，可以唤醒对生命的不重视

「环保的观念」，可以改善对生态的不平衡

「自然的缘起」，可以化导对行事的不合理

Egalitarianism shatters the world's inequality.

Humanism awakens us to the value of life.

Ecology restores the damaged environment.

Dependent origination leads to rational actions.

信仰佛教的真理很好

明白因果的道理更好

通晓平等的道理很好

奉行缘起的法则更好

It is good to believe in the Buddhist truth;it is better to realize the law of causality.

It is good to understand the essence of equality;it is better to follow the principle of dependent origination.

感谢因缘，因缘能成就一切

随顺因缘，因缘能引导自然

Be grateful to causes and conditions that help you achieve everything.

Follow causes and conditions that lead to natural results.

道德，是人类最珍贵的品质

般若，是人生最真实的宝藏

Morality is our most precious possession.

prajna is our greatest treasure.

可以不信佛祖，但不能不信因果

可以不信佛教，但不能没有慈悲

You don't have to believe in the Buddhea,but you must believe in the law of causality.

You can do without Buddhism,but not without compassion.

开发心中的众生，就能人我一体，无怨无悔

开发心中的真理，就是智慧如海，辩才无碍

开发心中的世界，就能广大无边，法界一如

开发心中的欢喜，就能利益众生，永不退转

Let your mind embrace sentient beings without discrimination,and act in a manner that is perfectly willing.

Let your mind grow into deep wisdom and eloquence.

Let your mind encompass the whole dharma-dhatu.

Let your mind cultivate happiness for the benefit of all sentient beings everywhere.

面对死亡，要有如游子回家的欢喜

面对死亡，要有如囚犯释放的自由

面对死亡，要有如落叶归根的自然

面对死亡，要有如空山圆月的明净

Facing death,be happy like a wanderer returning home.

Facing death,be free like a prisoner released.

Facing death,be natural like a fallen leaf.

Facing death,be pure like the full moon.

宰杀猪羊的屠夫，因放下屠刀，立地成佛

恶贯满盈的魔鬼，因丢弃利刃，成为圣贤

A butcher can become a Buddha after laying down the knife.

A demon can become a sage after laying down the sword.

正念如盾牌，可以抵御强敌，何卫自身

正见是盔甲，可以抵挡诱惑，远离三毒

Right mindfulness is a shield that protects us from our enemies.

Right understanding is an armor that shields us from temptation and three poisons:greed,hatred,and ignorance.

慈悲是人类情感净化的善美境界

智慧是菩萨理性缘起的真如显现

Compassion is pure kindness.

Wisdom means knowing the truth of dependent origination.

花儿吐露芬芳，我们觉得赏心悦目，因为它是「活」的

树梢随风轻摇，我们觉得生意盎然，因为它是「活」的

鸟儿枝头鸣叫，我们觉得动听悦耳，因为它是「活」的

Fragrant flowers bring joy because they are alive.

Tree give pleasure because they are alive.

Birdsong is agreeable because it is alive.

云朵舒卷自如，我们觉得自在舒畅，因为它是「活」的

溪水淙淙流动，我们觉得涤尽尘虑，因为它是「活」的

人的肌肉也要是「活」的，才能散发出生命的喜悦与希望

Moving clouds make us happy because they seem alive.

Streams make us think of the purging of defildment because they are alive.

Human muscles give us joy and hope because they are alive.

持戒的力量，可以擒拿心中的盗贼

禅定的力量，可以制伏心中的魔军

精进的力量，可以解开心中的缠结

智慧的力量，可以消灭心中的怨毒

The power of precept can catch the mental thief.

The power of meditation can subdue the mental demon.

The power of diligence can scatter mental defilement.

The power of wisdom can purge hatred.

有发愿才会有力量

有功德才能不退转

With the vow comes strength.

With meritorious acts comes progress.

有佛法，就有办法

能持戒，就不犯法

Where Dharma is,there lies the way.

Where precept is,there can be no transgression.

烦恼是妄想分别，应该要远离

生死是旷古秘密，应该要探究

Avoid the defilements of delusion and discrimination.

Discover the ancient secret of life and death.

道，没有时间，无始无终，所以弥陀才叫「无量寿」

道，没有空间，无内无外，所以弥陀才叫「无量光」

Just as the t'ao（way）has neither beginning nor end,so Amitabha Buddha is endless.

Just as the t'ao（way）has neither inside nor outside,so Amitabha Buddha is infinite.

贪婪瞋恚去除了，身心才能净化

自私嫉妒远离了，心胸才会宽大

Purging envy increases your nobility.

Purging hate and greed makes you pure.

慈悲是弘法的根本，失去了度众的慈悲，就没有佛道可成

方便是弘法的应用，不能巧妙运用方便，则不能圆满度众

Compassion is essential when teaching Buddhism;without compassion,you cannot attain Buddhahood.

Skill is essential when teaching Buddhism;without skillful means,you cannot save sentient beings.

心正，则本立

本立，则道生

道生，则心净

心净，则自然

With righteousness,a good foundation is laid.

With a good foundation,the t'ao（way）arises.

With the t'ao,the mind is purified.

With a pure mind,everything comes into being naturally.

只要不种恶因，自然没有恶果

想要幸福快乐，便要培养善缘

If there is no evil cause,there is no evil effect.

If you cultivate good causes and conditions,you will be happy.

知足者富

贪心者贫

助人者贵

多欲者贱

Content people are rich.

Greedy people are poor.

Those who help are noble.

Those who desire much are degraded.

心物平等是美好的感受

自他平等是和平的基础

性相平等是人间的真理

生佛平等是法界的圆满

The equality of mind and object brings people good feeling.

The equality of self and other lays the foundation of peace.

The equality of nounmena and phenomena shows the truth of the world.

The equality of Buddha and sen-tient beings shows a perfect dharmadhatu.

心无挂碍，方成解脱

能除烦恼，便是修行

Without worry and obstruction,one can attain liberation.

Getting rid of defilement is practice.

凡人有过能悔，然后就能进德

凡事有缘能行，然后就能成功

Repentance enhances virtue.

Acting with causes and conditions leads to success.

凡事缘聚而成

凡事缘散而灭

有了因缘，事事顺遂

因缘不合，处处失利

Things arise out of causes and conditions.

Things disappear out of causes and conditions.

With causes and conditions,all goes well.

Without good causes and conditions,success is impossible.

喜舍好比播种，懂得播种，必然有所收成

贪婪仿佛掘根，根本不固，难果实累树

Joyful giving,like sowing seeds,produces a rich harvest.

Greed,like pulling rice out by the root,deprives us of a decent harvest.

感谢过去的因缘，珍惜现世的果报

建设现世的因缘，培植未来的果报

Be grateful to past causes and conditions and cherish their fruit in your present life.

Build up causes and conditions in your present life to nurture the fruit of your future life.

小水一滴，不断滴落，可穿透磐石，更可润泽大地

星星之火，接续蔓延，可燎烧原野，更可温暖人间

小小种子，灌溉栽培，可长成大树，更可遮荫避雨

Water that breaks rocks softly nurtures crops.

Fire that burns crops gently warms homes.

Tiny seeds become trees to shade passersby.

太子年幼，长大成人，可为王当权，更可统治全国

沙弥虽小，年事渐大，可成就诸法，更可趋入圣道

儿童初长，慧解日增，可所学俱全，更可为国栋梁

Great kings were once little princes.

Great sages were novice monks.

World-revered personages were babbling infants.
