From the three Pure Land sutras, we learned that there is a great Amitabha Buddha in the West, and there is an extremely solemn, pure and wonderful Pure Land!
There is no word in the world to describe the beauty of the Pure Land, just as the 39th vow of Amitabha Buddha said:
‘When I became a Buddha, all things in the country were stern, pure, beautiful, and unique in shape, and extremely subtle and wonderful, and incomprehensible.AllAll living beings，Even if you have the heavenly eyes, you can distinguish the shape, color, light, name and number, and general preaching, and do not attain enlightenment.'
Because of the beauty of the Pure Land, even those with the divine eyes cannot fully describe its beauty. Therefore, when we look at the Pure Land from the three Pure Land sutras, what we see is only one billionth of a million.In other words, it's just a rough understanding.Despite this, it is enough to be enviable and amazing!
There are no three evil paths in the Pure Land (i.e., animals,Hungry ghost、hell).Greed is the cause of hungry ghosts, anger is the cause of hell, and ignorance is the cause of animals.All living beings who think of clothes and clothes, and those who think of food and food will naturally be sufficient and have no greed at all;The whole country is full of Bodhisattvas and the best people, who love each other and have no anger at all.All sentient beings always hear the wonderful Dharma, open their minds and understand them, and have no ignorance at all.Because there are no evil causes of greed, anger and ignorance, there are no three evil paths.
There are no women, either.The Pure Land is an absolutely pure and equal world. Everyone has six senses and no love and passion. Moreover, everyone's body and appearance are the same as Amitabha Buddha, with thirty-two real men appearances, so there are no women.
The Pure Land is vast and boundless. Even if sentient beings from the infinite worlds of the ten directions are reborn, there will be no overcrowding.
The climate is mild.Without the changes in the four seasons, cold, heat, and rain, it will always be so cool and comfortable, and it will make people feel refreshed.
The terrain is flat.The land in the world has mountains and steep mountains and abyss. That is the unevenness of the world, so the unevenness of the land;People in the Pure Land have pure and equal hearts, and because their hearts are calm, the land is also calm.
Gold is the land.In fact, the seven treasures are the earth, and gold is the head of the seven treasures. The other ones have been taken.The seven treasures are gold, silver, glass (cyan treasure), glass (crystal), conch (blue and white treasure), red pearl (red treasure), and agate.There are also seven treasures in the world, but they are all ordinary things. Compared with the best in the Pure Land, it is a world of difference.
There are palaces and pavilions.The palaces and pavilions are very unique, and can be large and small according to the intentions of people. They can be on the ground or floating in the air. They are all made of one, two or even seven treasures. Their magnificence is even more than the Heavenly Palace of the Six Destiny God. It is the residence of all the good people who have been reborn and is also a gathering for everyone.Preachingplace.Those who have just passed away should first practice in the lotus and wait until the flowers bloom.ProveThe Dharma body can enter the pavilion.
Colored tree.On the open space outside the pavilion, there are rows of neatly arranged colored trees.The so-called color tree is a colorful tree made up of the combination of one or even seven treasures.Some of the trees are one hundred yojanas tall (there are three types of yojanas, the large yojanas are about eighty miles, the middle yojanas are about sixty miles, and the small yojanas are about forty miles), and some are one thousand yojanas.A net made of hundreds of thousands of treasures of gold pearls are covered with over the tree, which is so beautiful!The most amazing thing is that these colored trees, when the breeze blows, are like hundreds of thousands of musical instruments, and they are played at the same time, reminding people of the Three Treasures.MeritBut chanting Buddha's name, chanting Dharma, and chanting monks (the three treasures they recite are the three treasures of the self-nature, not the three treasures of the abbot we recite).
The tree appears in the Buddha's land.The colored trees in the Pure Land can also reflect the solemn and beautiful people, things and things in the ten directions of Buddha's kingdoms, making the viewers as clear as if they see their own face in the mirror.
There is a seven treasure pool.There are countless pools made of seven treasures, ranging from ten yojanas, twenty yojanas, and even hundreds of thousands of yojanas, just like the sea, and they are all covered with golden sand, unlike our place where we are full of sand, gravel and sludge.
There are eight merit waters.Among the countless seven treasure pools, there are also water with eight incredible uses: 1. Clear, very clear and clean, without any impurities;2. Cold, that is, clean, cool, and always maintain the same temperature;3. Sweet, that is, sweet and delicious, very delicious;4. Light and soft, that is, the nature of water is frivolous and soft;5. Moisturizing means nourishing and nourishing, which is beneficial to the body and mind;6. Peace means peace and peace, bathe in it, be stable and comfortable;7. To eliminate troubles, that is, drinking this kind of water can not only quench thirst, but also eliminate hunger;8. Gain, that is, drinking this water or bathing in the water can increase good roots.In addition, there are three characteristics of water: 1. At will, that is, water can increase, decrease, cold, or warm according to people's wishes;2. Preaching, that is, when the water in the pool is swelling, it can make wonderful sounds and preach wonderful Dharma;3. Entering the Tao means entering the water bath, which will make the human mind progress.
There are treasure flowers.In the Seven Treasure Pool in the Pure Land, above the Eight Merit Waters, there are countless "subtle and fragrant" lotus flowers.The micro is made of the seven treasures, and this place is absolutely nothing;The wonderful one has infinite color and can emit light: the fragrance is the strange fragrance that will not disperse all seasons;Clean ones come from the water of virtue and the body is clean.The flowers vary in size, from one yojana to hundreds or thousands of yojanas. This is because sentient beings who recite the Buddha's name are diligent and lazy, so lotus flowers have different sizes.These lotus flowers are the flower fetus we will rebirth in the future. Whoever believes in and recites the Buddha in this world, a lotus will grow in the seven treasure pond in the Pure Land, marked with its name. When we will rebirth in the future, we will be transformed into this lotus.
All the scenery in the Pure Land is neither born nor destroyed, but the lotus is inconsistent. If a person chants the Buddha's name hard, the lotus in the seven treasure pond will become bigger and bigger. If you change to other methods, or stop chanting at all, this flower will wither wither. It can be seen that it has no certain shape, but changes and only appears by the mind.
There are rare birds.There are still hundreds of thousands of wonderful and colorful birds in the Pure Land.Birds belong to animals. There are no three evil paths in the Pure Land, so where do so many birds come from?It turns out that these birds were transformed by Amitabha Buddha's intent on making the Dharma sound flow continuously, but they were transformed with incredible divine power.These transformed birds make soft and elegant sounds everywhere, preaching the Dharma that everyone hears in their hearts. It is really subtle!Amitabha Buddha transformed into birds. Master Huiyi, the ninth ancestor of the Lotus Sect, said: "All feelings are happy with these birds, and they are transformed according to their feelings, so that they can transform them.joyTherefore;Birds still preach, so that they can make good things when they hear them;It does not have inferior thoughts from birds, and it can cure the discriminatory reason;The bird is Amitabha, which makes it possible to realize that the Dharma body is equal, and that everything is created.'The so-called 'all is', that isZenWhat the Sixth Patriarch Huineng said when he was enlightened, "Who did you expect your own nature to be fully possessed" and "everything is created" that is, "Who did you expect your own ability to produce all things."
Always make heavenly joy.In the Pure Land, the sky is always filled with joy, and you can hear the music you like according to your wishes.
The ceiling is colorful.There are still many wonderful ceilings such as Mandala falling from the sky day and night, and the ceilings are touching the ground without any need to be swept away. What is the beauty in the world?
In the Pure Land, from the ground to the void, all things shine brightly. Not only do people have light, but even the seven treasures, palaces, pavilions, treasure ponds, color trees, lotus flowers, etc., all light shine brightly. Therefore, the Pure Land does not require sun and moon, but naturally light.
The Pure Land is not only a bright world, but also an extremely fragrant world, because everything there is made up of the combination of countless precious fragrances, so the fragrance is everywhere and fragrance is emitting everywhere.
In the Pure Land, not only does there be no bad things, but you can’t even hear bad names. This is because the people, things and things there are perfect.
In the Pure Land, there are flower platforms everywhere, where Amitabha Buddha, Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva and Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva are sitting on it, and they teach subtle Dharmas for all practitioners. Therefore, people there can not only see Buddhas and Bodhisattvas at any time, but also hear wonderful Dharmas at any time. This is what sentient beings in the Saha world dream of!
In such a wonderful world, it can be said that there is no other one in the universe!After all, it is a Buddha country where Amitabha Buddha gathers the beauty of all Buddha lands in the ten directions. Naturally, everything is unique and rare, and it is unique!
In addition, Buddhism has always emphasized "cause and effect", and the Pure Land is the Pure Land that Amitabha Buddha made a vow in the causal realm, and then cultivated all merits through countless kalpas, and achieved through inconceivable vows and merits. Therefore, it is very consistent with the law of cause and effect of "there is such a cause and the result is such a result".Therefore, it is definitely not a purely fictional myth.
If you ask why the Pure Land is so solemn and beautiful?The answer is: This is the Buddha's wish.If the Buddha wants to have not yet been reborn, he will have rare thoughts, live in the pure realm of the spirit, recite the Buddha's name with all his heart, and seek rebirth in his country;If you have been born, everything will be sufficient, and you will not think about it and seek the Tao with all your heart until you become a Buddha.
Some people may also ask: The sentient beings in the Pure Land, the six senses faced by the realm of pleasure, will not hinder the mind of Tao?The answer is: This is the wonderful thing in the Pure Land. Although sentient beings receive all kinds of joy, they have no thoughts of happiness and are always in silence. This is due to the blessing of Amitabha’s vows.Amitabha’s twelfth vow says: “Those who are born in our country are far away from discrimination and all the senses are silent.'This means that the six senses of those who are reborn are no longer in the six dusts, so the six senses are pure and spotless.Therefore, even if you receive all kinds of joy, you cannot help but feel the Tao.
I believe that there are still people who will pursue a realistic problem, that is: Amitabha Buddha, praise from all directions, and the Pure Land, which is extremely solemn;But who in the world has seen Amitabha Buddha and the Pure Land?Here we want to give a few examples to prove that many people have seen:
（1) Shakyamuni Buddha preached the "Amitabha Sutra" to Vitihi. When he finished speaking, Madame Vitihi and the 500 maids all saw Amitabha Buddha, Avalokitesvara and Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva with their own eyes, and clearly saw the extremely wonderful and wonderful realm of the Pure Land.
（2) Master Huiyuan, the first ancestor of the Pure Land Sect, had seen Amitabha Buddha three times in his life and also saw the Western Paradise, which was exactly the same as what the sutra said.
（3) In ancient and modern times, many people who have achieved success in chanting Buddha's name can see the Buddha and the Pure Land in this life. Some see it in meditation, some see it in dreams, and more see it in death. Moreover, the Western supreme realm is clearly in the present.
People in the world can see Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, but they can see them if they are destined to see them, and they will not see them if they are destined to see them if they are destined to see them if they are not destined to see them.In the fifth year of the Republic of China, Sun Yat-sen, the founding father of China, traveled with his comrades in Putuo, Zhejiang. He personally saw the cash body of Guanyin Bodhisattva on Foding Mountain and asked everyone who traveled together, but everyone said they didn’t see it.After returning, he wrote an article 'You Putuo Zhiqi' to record the incident.He is a Christian. If he had not seen it personally, there would be no reason to fabricate stories to promote Buddhist Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.
After reading the Three Pure Land Sutras, we learned that the Pure Land is far away from this ten trillion Buddha land, that is, ten trillion three thousand great thousand worlds or the Milky Way.
This year (two ○○○）At the beginning of the year, the National Astronomical Observation Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences wrote a report stating that 'Unidentified Flying Objects' ( UFO） It has nothing to do with aliens.The argument is that although there may be highly civilized stars outside the earth, their closest star is four or three light years away from the solar system. Even if they fly to Earth on a high-speed spacecraft up to 100 kilometers per second, they will still have to fly 12,800 years.Unless aliens are immortal and the fuel supply of spacecraft can be endless, it is difficult to carry out a long journey to space.
From this scientific report, it is conceivable that the Buddhist scriptures say that when we recite the Buddha's name in this land, a lotus will immediately grow in the seven treasure pond in the Pure Land beyond the ten trillion Buddha lands.When a person chants the Buddha's name, when he is dying, the Buddha comes to guide him. In a flash of his fingers, he will reach the Pure Land.Such a speed is tens of millions of times faster than the speed of light. Is this possible?
In this regard, Master Huiyi has a very exciting question and answer in his famous "Amitabha Essays" as follows:
Question: How can we live in this ten trillion land when the West goes to this world?
Answer: Ten trillions of lands do not appear outside the mind and nature of my previous thought, because the mind and nature are originally nothing.Also, relying on the Buddha's power to guide you, it is difficult to be reborn in this way.It’s like dozens of mountains, rivers and pavilions in the mirror, the number of layers is as if it is not far or near. Once it is reflected, it will be seen without a certain order.
If you don’t understand yet, please read Elder Jingkong’s explanation of this passage: ‘This is doubtful that the West is far from this place, so how can you reach it?The Mahayana sutra says that the ten Dharma realms are all manifestations of the mind and nature. The mind and nature can be transformed, and the Buddha lands of the ten directions are transformed.The mind that can be transformed is infinite and boundless, and the land that can be transformed is also infinite and boundless.The Western Paradise is far away from usSaha world，The Buddha said that there are only ten trillion Buddha lands, and it is a very short distance if it is more than the infinite mind and nature.Therefore, the sutra says that those who chant Buddha's name will arrive in the West in a flash of their fingers.Amitabha Buddha is also Amitabha Buddha within our own nature, and there is definitely not Amitabha Buddha outside our own nature.The Western Pure Land is also manifested by the self-nature.Add Amitabha Buddha’s original vow, merit and power, and the blessings and guidance of the gods, what are the difficulties in rebirth?It is also like using a mirror to look at the mountains and rivers outside. If you don’t see the nearest, you will see the far and the far and the scenery in the mirror is really far and near.All Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are everywhere in the universe and Dharma Realm. When they think of it, they will immediately go there. The Avatamsaka Sutra explains this matter clearly because we have delusions, discriminations and attachments, and cannot enter into this situation. If there is no delusions, discriminations and attachments, there will be no far, near and large.'
In a nutshell, our mind and nature are all over the universe and the Dharma Realm. Although the Pure Land is outside the ten trillion Buddha lands, it has not been separated from the Dharma Realm, that is, it has not been separated from the self-mind.Therefore, the Pure Land seems far away, but rebirth is a matter of moment.
