What kind of minds do you need to study and believe in Buddhism?

The aspirations of practitioners are very different. Everyone has different goals for studying Buddhism, so naturally they have different intentions.In order to seek to escape from the three realms, to escape from life and death, and to achieve Buddhahood, we must develop a mind that is more reborn, renunciation, great compassion, and bodhicitta.At the same time, we must also have Prajna wisdom.

1、Increase the mind:I hope to have great blessings in the next life than in this life; I hope to have great blessings among the people in the next life;Or hope to ascend to heaven.From the perspective of liberation, this is a small fruit of human and heavenly beings, and a blessing of leakage. Practitioners cannot just stay at this level, but must further renunciation and seek out the three realms.

2、Centrifugation:It is the mind that is disgusted with the three desires to seek Nirvana.The Lotus Sutra's Performing Perfection says: The three realms are in peace, like a fire house, full of suffering, very fearful, and often have birth, old age, sickness, death, and worries. Such fires are endless.The Buddha said the Sutra of the Eight Great Awakenings of People" says: The world is impermanent, the country is in danger and fragile, the four elements are suffering and empty, the five yin have no self, birth, death and mutation, and hypocrisy and unattached.Therefore, practitioners should always remind themselves that the three realms are in peace and should not be kept for a moment, hoping to escape from the three realms and eternally escape from the cycle of reincarnation.

3、Great Compassion:《The Great Sun Sutra says: Bodhicitta is the cause, great compassion is the foundation, and convenience is the ultimate great compassion is the heart of compassion for all sentient beings, and is the foundation of Bodhicitta.As Master Yinshun said in "The Heart Sutra of Prajna Paramita": Bodhicitta arises from great compassion, which is sympathy for all sufferings in the world, and wants to provide relief to the world to obtain partial and ultimate perfect liberation and freedom.Lovers exist by dependent on each other. If others cannot escape from suffering, it is equivalent to their own defects. Therefore, Mahayana must complete the purification of oneself with great compassion that is beneficial to others.

4、Bodhicitta:It is to observe all sentient beings in the three realms, who are addicted to the sea of ​​suffering of life and death, and have no time left. In order to save all sentient beings from suffering of birth and death, they hope to realize the supreme Bodhi, which is the mind to seek Buddhahood and transform sentient beings.Master Yinshun's "Lectures on the Heart Sutra of Prajna Paramita" says: Bodhicitta means to cultivate the wisdom of blessings and virtues for a long time, and even achieve the ultimate perfect enlightenment. For the lofty goal of practicing Buddhism, firm faith and aspiration to achieve it.

5、Prajna Wisdom:That is the wisdom to realize the true nature of all dharmas.The Great Wisdom Treatise says: Prajna can give birth to all Buddhas and hold Bodhisattvas, and the Dharma is Prajna.As the saying goes, Prajna is the mother of all Buddhas in the three ages and can give birth to all Bodhisattvas.The Diamond Sutra says: All Buddhas and all Buddhas Anuttara Samyaksambodhi are all derived from this sutra.The Heart Sutra also says: All Buddhas of the three ages have attained the Anuttara Samyaksambodhi by relying on the Prajna Paramita.Thousands of sutras and thousands of treatises praise Prajna everywhere, and it can be seen that Prajna is a necessary requirement for becoming a Buddha. Without Prajna wisdom, you cannot achieve Buddhahood.

What we say cannot be just about words, but must be truly implemented in real life."The Rules of Disciples" says: If you don't practice it, just learn literature and become vanity, who will become a person?But practice hard, do not learn literature, let one's own opinions, and be ignorant of the truth.Confucianism still has this saying that learning and practicing both emphasizes.How can I fall behind in the Buddhist son?Zen Buddhism also said that the word "Moses" comes without a word, and it depends entirely on one's heart and effort;If you want to find Buddhism on paper, dip the tip of your pen to Dongting Lake, we must closely integrate the theories we have learned, implement the Buddhism we have learned in life, and always raise mindfulness and make sense of mind.Only by truly being a major event of life and death, and by truly spreading Buddhism, can we obtain real benefits. Otherwise, it would be easy to recite scriptures and difficult to interpret scriptures, and if you recite them orally, you will always be idle;If you can understand it without relying on the brink of time, it will be in vain to recite ten thousand volumes a day.
