The four words "real" are life and death, which means "centrifugation".

What is renunciation?

Leaving means transcendence and separation.The Buddha's Sutra and Treatise on the Buddha's Land says:
Those who say liberation are nirvana.It means: 1. Destroy the cause and effect of life and death, and overcome the waterfall of life and death;2. Leave the prison of the three realms and escape from the bondage of delusion and karma;3. Be free from the suffering of the samsara of life and death, and achieve the Buddha's path to achieve the state of liberation.

In layman's terms, the mind of renunciation is to be able to see through and let go, and to resolutely emerge from the mind of the six realms of reincarnation.It can also be said that renunciation is the great vow to transcend the three realms and escape from the six realms of reincarnation. Therefore, "Chang Ah Han"
middot; The Great Sutra praises that liberation is the most subtle and purity is the first.

Why do we need to develop renunciation?

The Three Realms are like a burning house: The Lotus Sutra says,
All sentient beings are my sons, deeply attached to worldly happiness and have no wisdom.The three realms are in peace, like a fire house, full of suffering, and it is very terrifying.There are often birth, old age, sickness, death and worries, and the fire is like this, and it is endless.

The fire house metaphor is used to describe the sentient beings with many afflictions being forced by the five turbidities (crack of kalpa, turbidity of seeing, turbidity of afflictions, turbidity of sentient beings, and turbidity of life), and the eight sufferings (birth, old age, illness, death, love separation, meeting with enemies and hatreds, inability to obtain, and the five aggregates are burning). There are many afflictions and cannot be stable, just like a fire in a house and a house burning, and cannot be able to live in peace.

The six realms of suffering are profound: in the cycle of life and death, from the heaven of non-thinking thoughts to the hell of the Avici, no matter where you are reincarnated, there is no little happiness.The six realms of reincarnation have their own sufferings, and the suffering cannot be described, as the theory says:


The pain of hell is caused by the sparks burning eyebrows, which is particularly painful, not to mention the hot hell, the burning is burnt and burned, which is indescribable.The suffering of hungry ghosts is that they do not eat every day, and they are even more unbearable to hunger. What's more, the hungry ghosts have been going on for thousands of years, and water slurry cannot be entered into their mouths.The suffering of the animal's path is even more difficult to live in, not to mention that animals and pigs and dogs live in are extremely dirty.

The sufferings of the three evil realms are beyond human tolerance, and you should feel great fear.

Although we have obtained the three good paths of human, heaven and Asura through good causes, these three good paths have not been eliminated from birth and death, and have not been free from suffering.There are three sufferings, eight sufferings and countless sufferings in the human world, which cannot be described.The heavens regard their blessings as a result. Even though they receive all the joys, they will fall into nothing.Or you will be born in heaven, suddenly become hell, be happy and sad, rebellious, and have no freedom in reincarnation. What is there to love?

All sentient beings in the six realms will suffer from karma and will die and live and be happy and sad, and will be reversal of reincarnation.When you see the sufferings and reincarnation of these three realms, you should develop a mind of liberation, and you will know that you will think about suffering and eliminate the accumulation.

How to cultivate renunciation?

The convenient way to cultivate renunciation is to think
It is difficult to obtain a human body, life span is impermanent, cause and effect are not empty, and reincarnation is all suffering.

Cultivating renunciation includes two aspects: one is to escape from reluctance to this life, and the other is to escape from desires and attachments to the next life.Contemplating the difficulty of obtaining the human body and impermanence of life can eliminate attachment to life.If you meditate on the cause and effect, and the cycle of reincarnation will be suffering, you will be able to eliminate your attachment to future generations.

Renunciation requires thinking and practice, and practice anytime, anywhere.For example, when you see pigs, sheep and cattle pulled from a truck, you immediately make a decision: how lucky you are to obtain a human body, and life is impermanent, you have to practice well, and how pitiful it is to fall;When you encounter a pet being led by a rope, you will immediately be alert: sentient beings suffer a lot, and the pets are blessed, but they are ignorant and unfree, and you must practice well.I often think that life is rare and life is impermanent. In this world, in the face of impermanence, there is nothing to be greedy for.

The theory says: From the beginning of time, life and death have flowed, suffering and all kinds of joy.That is, in the past, I have suffered hundreds of thousands of billions of joys, but things have changed, so where are you here now?If you have nothing to do with emptiness, what is the benefit of me!Such suffering and happiness in the world will not only prevent my life and death troubles, but will instead make these troubles prosper, which will not be useless and harm them.

We have understood the importance of renunciation. In real life, we must recite the Buddha's name more and do everything we should do.Work hard, but don’t be greedy.

Finally, we will quote a verse from a saint to make a summary, hoping to encourage each other:

The body is as leisurely as a treasure of Mani,

It is difficult to encounter many lifetimes in one lifetime.

Now that I have learned the Dharma in this body,

It is advisable to learn and learn from great benefits.
