Be brave and diligent in Buddhism. (superior )──The Western Temple Huayan Auspicious Dharma Assembly was held in the lecture and instructed by all the monks and lay Buddhists: Today (6Month 12 )Dragon Boat Festival is an important festival for us Chinese;Seeing so many monks and lay Buddhists coming to the Western Temple and everyone came to chant the "Avatamsaka Sutra" together, I was very amazed and very happy. In the past few days, I have been introducing the ideas of the "Avatamsaka Sutra" to you;The "Avatamsaka Sutra" gives us a complete view of the universe. The entire three thousand great thousand worlds can be collected in a slight dust, and a slight dust can also accommodate three thousand great thousand worlds, so the entire world is endless; The achievement of all worldly dharmas and even the perfection of transcendental dharmas depends on the size of our mind; The power of the mind is incredible. It can make us transcend the ordinary and become saints, and it can also make us become Buddhas and ancestors. The so-called "one thought of heaven, one thought of hell";So, what kind of determination, courage, and diligence we must have in order to truly understand the real world of Viagra, which is the Qing Dynasty in the Huazang world.netocean? In the "Ship of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva's Practice and Vows", there is a good explanation: It is like a dusty end, and the Buddha in that place is incredible; When Buddha and Buddha's sons sit in it, they are common in the supreme and wonderful practices of Bodhi. The meaning of these four sentences is the concept of "taking small to big" in the Huayan realm: at the tip of a grain of dust, there is a world with a quantity of dust, and each world contains an incredible number of Pure Land of Buddha. In each Pure Land of Buddha, there are Buddhas and countless Bodhisattva disciples sitting upright preaching and listening to the Dharma. They are often practicing the wonderful practices and wishes of the Bodhi path.
This is just like the principle of "Sumumi Supplementing Mustard Seeds" mentioned yesterday. For ordinary people, they can understand it in theory, but the state of "Sumumi Supplementing Mustard Seeds" cannot be imagined. What should I say?In fact, the Dharma bodies of all Buddhas of the three ages do not occupy time and space, and they also transcend time and space;Neither metaphysical nor physical;Neither immediately nor leave, nor fall into the middle. Therefore, small things do not deviate from big things. Small things not only connect to big things, but are basically the same as big things, so they are not limited by size.
These are the four unobstructed Dharma Realms (Things, principles, affairs, affairs )The highest level of "everything is unobstructed by the Dharma Realm".It is the first truth of the incredible realm, and uses concrete techniques to express abstract ideas; But this is by no means a contemplation or imagination, but an experience world that is verified from the inside. In the sutra, Samantabhadra Bodhisattva then said: Such infinite and all directions can be measured in one hair and three lifetimes; In the sea of Buddha and the sea of earth, I enter the sea of all calamities of practice. These four sentences follow the above, and are the endless Buddhas that express the great and large dimensions of the Huayan realm with Mao Duan and the sea: there are countless Buddhas in all directions of space, and at the tip of Yi Mao, there are the Buddhas of the three ages and their Pure Land of Buddha Kingdom. The number of Buddhas and the number of Buddha lands are like the four great seas, and there are countless; The Bodhisattva practitioners who made the Samantabhadra's vows enter such countless Buddha lands, get close to all Buddhas, practice Samantabhadra's vows, and go through countless kalpas, and never get tired. From this we can see that the value of Bodhisattva's actions lies in the vastness and infinity of their aspirations and their never-tiringness.The Bodhisattva's wish is nothing more than to seek all suffering sentient beings to hear the Dharma, practice the Buddhist path, realize the Buddhist principles, and be free from all kinds of troubles and be liberated; However, why is it difficult for sentient beings to break through afflictions and ignorance, and finally get rid of liberation? As stated in the "Avatamsaka Sutra. The Chapter on Light Awakening": At that time, Manjushri Bodhisattva asked the Bodhisattva Qinshou, "Son of Buddha!Buddhism is one. When sentient beings are seen, why not completely eliminate all the bondage of afflictions and be free from it?However, there is no difference between the form, feeling, thinking, action, consciousness, desire, form, form, form, form, ignorance, greed, and love. This is Buddhism. Is there any benefit to all sentient beings?Or no benefit?"At that time, the Bodhisattva Qinshou replied in a verse, "Son of Buddha, listen carefully, I will answer truthfully now, and may be able to be liberated quickly, or may be difficult to escape. If you want to eliminate all your mistakes and evil, you should be brave and diligent in Buddhism. For example, if there is a small amount of fire, the woodcutter is quickly destroyed, and the same is true for those who are lazy in Buddhism. If you drill a flint to find fire, you will count breaths before you come out, and the fire will stop and extinguish, and the same will be true for those who are lazy.If a person holds a sun pearl and does not inherit the shadow of things, fire will never be obtained, and the same is true for those who are lazy. It’s like a sun shining, and a child is closing his eyes. Why not talk strangely? The same is true for those who are lazy. It's like a person has no brothers and feet.If you want to shoot through the earth with a rhinoceros arrow, the same is true for those who are lazy.If you take a hair and take the water of the sea, you will try to make it dry and exhausted, and the same is true for those who are lazy.Another example is that the fire of a calamity arises and wants to be eliminated with less water. In Buddhist teachings, the same is true for those who are lazy.If you see the void and stay in the air without shaking, you will be more open and more lazy."If you want to eliminate countless mistakes and evils," means that each of us sentient beings has all kinds of faults. Therefore, if we want to seek liberation from life and death, we should first eliminate countless mistakes and evils. What should we do?"We should be brave and diligent in Buddhism." It seems that today we all recite scriptures and know the suffering, accumulation, extinction, and the path. Because of feeling suffering, we seek the causes of suffering and the path to extinguish suffering, and then we can achieve liberation through practicing the path. (To be continued )Be brave and diligent in Buddhism. (Down )──The teachings of the Auspicious Dharma Assembly of the Western Temple in Huayan are as stated in the Lotus Sutra: "Where is this man who is able to be liberated?"How can we get liberation?""But without illusion is called liberation."As long as you stay away from falsehood, you can achieve liberation. So, what is "false"?External fame, fortune, power, color, and sound are certainly false. Even the body that combines the four elements and five aggregates is short-lived and not permanent, that is, impermanent and unreal, because the body is formed by the combination of the four elements of earth, water, fire and wind. The so-called "responsibility will arise when it gathers, and then it will be destroyed and dispersed at any time, which is false and unreal. When you can't breathe, where is this body? Can I be independent again?Even this world has become a vast ocean, and a vast ocean has become a vast ocean. From ancient times to the present, many people, things and things have been constantly changing in the impermanent changes. However, precisely because everything is changeable and impermanent;Only when everything is born and destroyed by fate can we understand that this is the reality of all dharmas, and we will cherish our human body and make progress with courage;Only then can you break out of the cocoon from the various worldly troubles and obtain liberation and freedom in life.As mentioned above, in the "Light and Awakening Chapter", the Bodhisattva Diligently encourages us who practice "to be brave and diligent in Buddhism." He gave many examples, especially: "It is like a small amount of fire, and the woodcutter is quickly destroyed; In Buddhist teachings, the same is true for those who are lazy."It is like a small amount of fire", which means a little bit of fire;"The woodcutter is wet and quickly eliminates it." "The woodcutter" means firewood. If the woodcutter is dry, it can only burn. If it is wet, it must quickly extinguish the small amount of fire. Therefore, the same is true for those who are lazy in Buddhism."It is like drilling a flint to seek fire, and counting breaths before it comes out;The fire will be extinguished as soon as it stops, and so will those who are lazy."If we want to drill wood to make fire, we must constantly increase our strength; If you don’t increase your strength, the fire will slowly disappear, and the same is true for those who are lazy in practicing.Even if we make some progress at present, we still need to continue to improve. This is the analogy of "drilling flint to seek fire" to encourage practitioners to make continuous progress, otherwise the previous efforts will be in vain. The Buddha's Last Teachings also says: "If the practitioner's heart is to be slackened."If the practitioner's mind is often lazy, that is, slack or laziness, "it is like drilling into fire, which is extinguished before it is heated. Even if you want to get fire, it is difficult to get fire." Although you really want to get fire, it is very difficult. The Bodhisattva's Original Practice Sutra also says: "All things arise from diligence."No matter what, worldly cause or transcendental Taoist deeds, you must make progress to achieve it."If a person holds a sun pearl and does not inherit the shadow of things, fire will never be obtained, and so will those who are lazy."The Sun Bead" is like the magnifying glass we use now;If a magnifying glass is placed under the sunlight, we must have a "objective inheritance shadow" below. This "image" is the focus of the sun, and it will be burned soon, so there must be something. In Master Qingliang's annotation, "Things are all wormwood, etc."Mitsui is mugwort, which is easy to burn;If the mugwort is not under the wormwood, the fire cannot be burned. For example, we focus the sun on the mud, the ground will not burn, the mud and sand will not burn, and the stones will not burn. Therefore, there must be plants, that is, combustible substances, so that they can easily burn. This is the analogy. Although there is a sun bead that can gather sunlight, there is no auxiliary factor for combustible objects below, so "fire will never be available", and it is impossible and unattainable to make this fire burn."The same is true for those who are lazy." The same is true for those who are lazy in their practice; Why did he not achieve success after practicing for a long time?It is because of lack of fate. Therefore, our 21-day recitation ceremony for the "Avatamsaka Sutra" is a Saturday, Sunday, or even public holiday. We will not rest and recite it together. Even if we do not fully understand, we will have some understanding of the Huazang world after listening to the teachings. We often say that "opening books is beneficial." This sentence is indeed correct. We open scriptures to read and recite them, which is of course much better than gossip;Because we usually talk about right and wrong and troubles, but who do we talk to when we open the scriptures? It is to talk to Buddhas and Bodhisattvas; The Buddha not only requires us to speak pure language, but also requires our body, speech and mind to be pure.As Samantabhadra Bodhisattva said in the "World Achievement": All lands are born with karma; You should observe and change the same way.Defiling all sentient beings, and karma is terrifying; The mind makes the sea worse and everything becomes defiled. If you have a pure mind, you will cultivate all kinds of blessings and virtues; That mind makes the sea of defilements and purity.Believe in and understand all Bodhisattvas and be born in that calamity;Follow the mind, the contaminated and pure view is as pure as it is.All sentient beings have developed the Bodhicitta; That heart makes the sea of sway, and the calamity will always be pure."All lands are born with karma." Different lands of Buddha are actually born with our karma; Therefore, the Buddha told us that "you should observe and change the form of transformation." That is to say, because the karma of sentient beings is different, the states they feel are not completely different, and we must observe them carefully."The defilement of all sentient beings, and their karma and delusions are terrifying." These impure sentient beings are entangled by karma and delusions because of their evil karma. This is really terrifying;Today we have the opportunity to hear the Dharma and practice according to the Dharma. This is really a cause and condition for many lifetimes. Everyone has the opportunity to recite the "Avatamsaka Sutra" together, which are all our good roots and good causes;Of course, the purpose of our practice is like "cultivating all kinds of blessings and virtues", and first of all, we must "if we have a pure mind";"That mind makes the sea of defilements and purity." This means that our body, mouth, and mind slowly become pure through reading and reciting scriptures, and thus be inspired, and enter the sea of wisdom of Tathagata. This is true when we recite the sutras and chant the "Forty-Two Letters of the Avatamsaka Sutra";This is all the expression of Buddha's wisdom, the fifty-two levels of Bodhisattva, the ten faiths, the ten abductions, the ten practices, the ten dedication, the ten stages, the equal enlightenment, and the wonderful enlightenment; Each level is an improvement at different levels. A single ten faith level requires a small kalpa, but the road is far away and starts with a single step. Therefore, as the initial stage of learning the Bodhisattva's practice, we must first understand this universe, understand this three thousand great worlds, understand ourselves, and understand the people, things and things in our surroundings. Buddhism gives us a correct and vast outlook on the universe and life;In Buddhism, we find the way to get along with nature, the way to get along with people, the way to get along with sentient beings, and the way to get along with ourselves.Buddhism not only inspires us to practice, but also to life, that is, to life. As long as we have this understanding, we can cherish the human body and the opportunity to listen to the Dharma, and go deep into the sutras, wisdom is like the sea, and increase blessings and intelligence.I hope that everyone can grow wisdom and cultivate both blessings and wisdom without any obstacles.Okay, let's get a veterinary.
