(one )Case article

The monk asked, "Please leave the voice and answer indifferently!"

(When you realize the state of being confused in the outside of sound and color, those who are separated from sound and color refer to the nature of nature. Therefore, this case originates from the essence of the realm, and what is outside of the words, sound and color are the essence of the nature. )

Zen Master Zhongdu said, "Wood people often talk to each other, but they have nature but cannot speak."

(The body is true, and the thoughts are wrong. Those who think of thoughts and hearts that are always in words belong to the wood man. )

(two )Xuanxiang's explanation

1.Preface

When it comes to knowing the nature, I have talked about four stories. The nature is like the sky and nothing, the nature is originally quiet and does not fall into words, the language and words are supreme, but I am the only one. The nature is to abandon the appearance of men and women, and is invisible and invisible. The appearance of men and women is the body of karma.

Today we will continue to explain "sexuality but speechless". This case is still talking about "emptiness". We know that the nature has two functions. The first is emptiness and the second is cause and effect. ──All dharmas arise from the dependent origination of emptiness.Although we must first understand emptiness in order to resonate with the true nature of all dharmas, this is a complete explanation of Buddha nature.

Today I am still talking about the part of "emptiness". The fifth story is "having nature but silent". If you show emptiness in the present, it will not fall into words and expressions. If you cannot understand this "emptiness" and make some statements, you cannot recognize the true appearance of all dharmas based on emptiness. This "silent and speechless" means that if a person realizes that the nature of nature is empty, he does not like to speak randomly.Give examples to illustrate several practice processes:

(1)Stop the mind -Stop our delusional mind, because this delusional mind is not true, so when you meditate, all dharmas are not true -It is dominated by false consciousness, so the mind that arises from false consciousness is not true and must be stopped.

(2)Empty body -Before you have realized the emptiness of the body, the "present karma consciousness" will appear. This is the habits and seeds in our subconscious mind. Everything should appear, which will hinder the self-nature, prevent you from seeing the self-nature and cannot recognize the state of emptiness of the body. Therefore, you must first eliminate the current karma consciousness. To eliminate the current karma consciousness will make my mind die.The so-called great death of the mind means to face the external world, having the ability to not seek connections, and not having any thoughts to correspond.Of course, this external environment includes no interest in all good and evil realms.Of course, you don’t want to do good deeds at this time, and you won’t do bad things. For you, you are no longer interested in the realm of good and evil.Is itMy heart is dead. What about the inner state? If you cannot realize the false consciousness, you can realize emptiness at this time. Our emptiness body is like the "original silence" mentioned in the second case. My nature is originally a phenomenon of silence and non-duality. Only when the mind can die a great death can we recognize it.

(3)Living Sword ─In Zen practice, we must make our hearts die, and the great masters will give you a knife ─「Killing Sword", this sword is to kill all delusions and all delusional consciousness, so that you can achieve "a great death in the mind".But if your mind is allowed to die, your mind will certainly realize "emptiness" and attain the third and fourth stages of Bodhisattvas, you will have the skill of liberation.Although you have the skill of liberation, you cannot arise the mind method, and you cannot do this "all dharmas of dependent origination".At this time, the Zen master will give you a sword called "Living Man's Sword" -Let our hearts be resurrected. The practitioner used to have delusions, but he could not achieve them. Now he has destroyed this delusion.backRealizing that the body is empty, you must save your heart at this time. This living sword allows the saint's heart to be alive again.Only when a practitioner is resurrected can he speak with the flow, think again, and face external realms with joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness, and have feelings and express them like ordinary people. At this state, because the heart has achieved liberation, all the states that appear in the mind appear now, forget now, and appear now, butbackAfter the situation is over, I forget it. I have no worries and will not remember or think about what the situation is.Is it? .Words.If you can do this, the first part will realize "emptiness" and the second part will also realize "existence". If both parts are complete, it is the so-called perfect enlightenment, emptiness and existence, and the middle way.In this way, you will not be stuck in the part of "emptiness" forever. The first stage is the liberation knowledge of Hinayana practitioners. (A heart is dead ),Certification to the second part (Living Sword )It is the enlightenment of Mahayana practitioners, and this state is even higher, so they are said to be reluctant to abandon all dharmas, but they can achieve ultimate liberation.

2.Explanation of the topic

「Sexual and silent" is a state of showing that the practitioner has attained real emptiness. What is it when he uses the killing knife to realize the "great death of the mind"?Is itrealm? It can be said that I enter absolute emptiness. I do not know all true and false dharmas, nor distinguish them. Anyway, all dharmas are illusory and unreal, and I do not correspond to them.

What is it that has been verified by the sword of a living personIs itrealm? It can be said that it is relative emptiness, which means that there is a dharma without attachment, and that a dharma arises from my heart, but I can't be the master of "this dharma".The great master of the ancestor once said: "There is no master of the law, which is no mind."After proof of such words, it is as stated in the Diamond Sutra, "The mind should be born without dwelling on anything.""This mind is the objective mind that the person who is enlightened has no worries, and is the real mind;Having something to dwells is a delusional habit to move into. Now, nothing is the pure mind of the person who has pure mind and the person who has realized emptiness.backThe true mind that appears is the appearance that is manifested by all conditions. If you can remain unmoved in the face of the Dharma at this time, it is the liberation method that the Bodhisattva has realized, which is harmonious and perfect. What we want is this one, and reaching this state is also called "middle way".You can often see the classic "Middle Way View", which means that we realize it at this time. Therefore, we say that our nature is speechless, but it is still in the first stage of absolute emptiness, which is not ultimate liberation.

3.Language style explanation

The monk asked, "Please leave the voice and answer indifferently!", "monk" means the teacher, tutor, etc. who have taught you, and many monks are also called "monks". Of course, they have never taught you, and you have not received his tutoring. In principle, they cannot be called "monks". If they call them "monks", they mean that they have been educated by him. This monk has become a common name in China. Anyway, people who do not study Buddhism call monks monks. The original meaning of a monk is not like this. The original meaning is: if you come to visit, ask for advice, and seek the Dharma, and if you have received teachings from monks, you will respectfully call him "monk".

Monk! Please answer outside the form of color, sound, smell, taste, touch, etc. All dust realms cannot be separated from color, sound, smell, taste, touch, etc., and the monk said that sound and color are representative. The meaning can also be said that monks should not answer in the phenomenon world, but answer in the essence world.Because form, sound, fragrance, taste, and touch are all external realms, which are everything in our phenomenal realm. Now, monks need to leave these to answer, which is to clearly explain the Zen master's side of emptiness.

In the notation, since this case is separated from color, sound, fragrance, taste, and touch, it is hoped to enter the realm of the essence. Beyond sound and color is the empty body of our nature.

Zen Master Zhongdu replied, "Wood people often speak to each other, but they have a nature that cannot speak."Mutu people often like to speak, asking questions and answers, which is different from what we understand: Mutu people are dull and not good at speaking. For those who practice, those who have not yet attained their true nature like to speak very much. The words they say are inconsistent with meaning and are creating karma every day. This wooden man often likes to speak, but a person with nature cannot speak. If you are a person who realizes that the body is empty, you are not happy or unable to speak. What was I just talking aboutIs itWhere is the realm? The state of death of the heart, the heart is dead, the practitioner must experience the state of "the heart is dead". People who die of the heart are not interested in the external environment, do not want to watch the news, do not want to watch the movies, and sometimes it is rare to even want to eat food, no matter what they want to makeIs itAnyway, I have no interest in things and I don’t have delusions in my heart, so at this time my heart feels like I’m dead.

It would be painful to ask him to say something at this time. Goode often said, "The present is right, and the thoughts are wrong.""The moment the empty thought is my nature, the emptiness of my nature; If you have any thoughts, you will be disobedient, and if you have any thoughts, you will be disobedient. If you have any thoughts, you will be suffering. You will find it strange: Only when you don’t speak will you feel pain.Is itWhat if the speech is painful? The problem of ordinary people is: if they don’t speak, they feel very painful. If a person who has achieved emptiness after cultivation and enlightenment will be very painful for him to speak. These people often listen to their ears, their eyes move, and their mouths rise. They don’t like to speak very much, and they will feel very painful when they speak, because they are deviant.

When this nature has thoughts again, it will feel very painful. Our original nature does not fall into words and words. We do not like thoughts, speak, and live in emptiness and silence. If you experience this state, you must experience it.Only after such a endurance can you truly die and realize complete liberation. What is liberation from all dharmasIs itrealm? That is, no matter how great the adversity is, you can easily resolve it without any effort, and ignore it, be free and unobstructed.Causes and conditions are changing, time passes, and slowly this condition passes, and the Dharma is destroyed. If we want to understand this state, we must understand the truth that nature cannot be expressed.

「The saying "having nature cannot be said" is very important. We often talk about emptiness in the body, but it has spiritual consciousness and can reflect all realms. It reflects all situationsbackThere is no words, so you can only experience it, it seems that something is wrong, but whatIs itYou may not know about things, because if it has a false mind or a thought, it will deviate from its essence, and this is not what your true mind shows. So, sometimes if the heart feels something happens, the heart will fluctuate a little. This fluctuation is just a little bit, and it feels like something is still there, but whatIs itI don’t know what happened, but when the cause and condition are ripe, many things and realms gradually appear, oh!So that's how it is.

Our nature can actually follow all environments and understand all environments so that we can control all environments, and only control but not interfere. Is itYou don't have to worry about resolving it, what are you doingIs it?It is to eat, sleep, and shit. These major things are done after completion. Therefore, practice is very simple. I am afraid that you will not be able to stop breathing, and that you will use the conditioned Dharma to respond to the conditions, not use your own nature to respond to all situations, but use your active mind, habits, problems, or all external Dharmas. What you learn is not the true Dharma or the liberation Dharma, and what you can learn is not the true Dharma. So where does Kung Fu come from? The Dharma is the true Dharma that naturally emerges from your Buddha nature."Naturally appear" -HowIs itWhat about now?As long as you give up all dharmas and get rid of all worries, don’t be afraid of this or that, let go of all your mind and return to your original emptiness, the more you can emptiness you will be able to permeate all the realms. If you are afraid of the East and the West, you will want to use this method to deal with that method, and you will be half-dead, and you will not be able to illuminate all situations with a proactive mind.

Here, "Sexuality cannot be spoken" means that people who have realized emptiness can control all situations, but do not fall into language and words. This is a phenomenon of practice and a state of mind, you have to experience it.Sometimes I feel something is wrong, but I don't know what it isIs itIt is best if the mind can be calm, it is best to have no worries, it doesn’t matter if there is something. If you can't calm down and your mind is a little floating, what you need to do is to meditate, chant Buddha's name, and worship Buddha as soon as possible to increase your concentration.mostback,What I face is still fine, the mostbackIt will definitely break through the cause and condition, so the "Dharma of Inaction" is thisIs itThe certificate comes.

《The Diamond Sutra says: "All wise men and sages are different by the law of inaction."Why is the law of inaction"Is itIs it supreme?"The law of inaction" does not use one law. Of course, you cannot deny that "the law of inaction" is also a law. "The law of inaction" is a law without one law. Isn't that easy? You don’t need a Dharma to deal with everything. As long as you are open and honest, you will return to the nature of inaction without any worries, you will become wise and change divinely, and experience its power from "nothing". You can slowly experience many things that cannot be overcome by a conditioned Dharma. As long as you can accept it and keep an empty body and silence, you can turn all the realms around you.

Note: In the body, the thoughts are wrong.Thoughts come to mindbackIt means that the mouth must move, which is what is often called the wooden man, and the Buddha nature will never be understood.People who are Wukong have embodied their own nature and cannot express their nature. They need to experience these realms I just mentioned.
