This is the first step, removing its auxiliary causes. This "five pains" is a cause that helps create karma, so it must be removed first.
Ananda! All sentient beings eat sweetness and are born: "All sentient beings" are the twelve types of sentient beings. These twelve types of sentient beings include all sentient beings, and they are clearly analyzed. "Sweet" is something sweet, but in this case, it is not necessarily sweet. All in all, eating it is not bitter, edible, and not poisonous, which is called "sweet". This "sweet" represents everything you eat, and you feel sweet and sweet when you eat it, so it is called "sweet". All beings eat sweetness, so life is prolonged. Eating poison and dying: If you eat poisonous things, you will die. This poisonous thing is not necessarily really poisonous, just like these five spices, which are called poisonous. All in all, it is poisonous, and when people eat it, there is an abnormal feeling. "Therefore death" is either immediate death or death faster, and the life span will not be long.
It is all sentient beings who seek samadhi: Because of this, if all sentient beings want to ask for samadhi, they should cut off the five kinds of spicy vegetables in the world: they should first remove their helping causes, what is this helping cause? Just cut off all these five kinds of spicy vegetables in the world. The five kinds of spicy vegetables, which have been mentioned before, are "green onions, leeks, garlic, garlic, and Xingqu". Garlic is a kind of big head, wild and home-born; It seems that the onion eaten in foreign countries has a big head, which can be said to be a garlic. Garlic is garlic. green onion; Onions also roughly belong to the genus Onion. Xingqu, this is probably in India, China does not have this kind of thing, so there is no translation; What does this kind of thing look like? It's probably all spicy things, also called "Xingyi". These are five kinds of spicy vegetables; Spicy is "spicy".

Meat is the same, why don't people who practice Taoism eat meat? It is also because meat helps people's lust and increases people's lust. These five kinds of spicy things also increase people's desires; It does not increase legitimate desires, but increases such evil and lustful thoughts. If you eat too much of the five spicy things, this lust will go crazy, and men will not be able to do without women, and women will not be able to do without men, so there will be a kind of unbearable nature.
Eating and increasing anger: This "anger", don't misunderstand it, this is the "anger" of "anger", notwisdom"Hui"! The same sound, "Oh, is it an increase in wisdom?" "No, it is to increase your foolishness. How do you increase your foolishness? Really, to increase your temper is to increase your foolishness! Wise people will not lose their temper; Most people who lose their temper do not understand the reasoning of things, cannot see through things, and there is no way to solve an obstacle. If there is no way to solve it, you will lose your temper, and the result will not help things. So why do you get angry and have a big temper? Just because you eat all kinds of meat, it will increase your ignorancevexation。 Eating five spices will also increase your temper and increase your ignorance and troubles; The more you eat, the bigger your temper becomes!

If a person in the world eats spicy food, even if he can preach the twelve sutras: like this world, even if he can preach the twelve sutras, the ten heavenly beings find them smelly and filthy: allLecturesIf you fast and are pure, do not eat five spicy foods, do not drink alcohol, and do not eat meat, at this time, the immortals of the ten directions will come to support you and often come to protect you. Tianxian looks at us people in the world, which is originally filthy. Why is it filthy? Just because you eat spicy food, wine, meat, etc., there is a foul smell on your body, which is very unclean.
You Westerners, you or some people will feel it, and some people will not feel it. People in the West because of the majorityjoyEating beef, eating onions, eating these things, there is always a smell that seems to be very foul; This is called a "body odor", from under the two arm sockets, the stench is born, oh, four or five feet away, you can smell it clearly! There are times among Chinese, but very few, not necessarily one out of ten. In Westerners, this is what I found myself, almost all of them have it, just because they eat too much beef, too much lamb, and too much green onions! So develop this smell.
All of them stayed away: The immortals of these ten directions all stayed away from this person. Why? He dislikes (northern dialect, meaning disgusted) that such people are unclean. Although this kind of person can speak the twelve sutras, the twelve sutras are:

Hungry ghosts, etc.: You can preach the twelve sutras, but you are not fasting, and those hungry ghosts who have nothing to eat, lick their lips and kiss them because of their meal: "He" is the person who preaches the sutra; "Eating" means finishing eating. When this person finishes eating, the ghost comes to kiss you. Because after you finish eating, your lips have this smell of five spices, ghosts like this smell, and want to eat this smell, so they come to kiss you, the person who eats five spiciness, to lick your lips. The Buddha said that ghosts and gods touch food, so if you have a smell here, they will touch it violently, touch it left or right, you can't see it, but that's what they want to do.
Living with ghosts: People who fast and eat five spices often live with ghosts. But living with ghosts, I don't know yet, and I can't see it. His merit is sold day by day, and there is no benefit for a long time: his merit is disappearing day by day, and there is no benefit.

The Demon King of Hercules, at his convenience, took the form of a Buddha and came to preach the Dharma, not to destroy the precepts, but to praise the lustful anger and foolishness. In the end, he became a relative of the demon king, and the blessings of the demon were exhausted, and he fell into the endless hell. 】
You see, if you read this article, you can understand! It is a spicy eater: Which one is this person who eats five spices? Whichever one eats, it is whichch! You are who you eat, and I am who eats, and there is no specific person, that is, the person who eats this kind of thing. Practicing samadhi: He thinksPracticeWords of concentration. What do you think? Bodhisattvas, immortals, and good gods of the ten directions do not come to protect them: all the bodhisattvas, all the immortals, and all the good gods who protect the Dharma in the ten directions, because they eat five spices, do not come to protect them. Why? It's so stinky! The good gods of the Dharma protector were happy and clean, because they thought his smell was too stinky, so they didn't come to protect him. Why should the Dharma protector and good god protect you? Just because there is righteousness, there is no evil; If there is no righteousness, there will be evil. Righteousness is the protector of the Dharma and the good god, and the guardian of the monks.
Now that the protector of the Dharma is no longer guarding, what do you think? This Great Demon King: Alas, he looked: "No one in this place is close to this cultivator!" "Oh, okay, he's here! When he comes, he will make you his dependent. Therefore, the immortals, bodhisattvas, and the good gods of the ten directions do not come to protect this cultivator, this great demon king—this great power means that he has great power, he is very powerful, and he is very powerful, and he is convenient: he will be able to take advantage of the situation and take advantage of the situation.
How? How powerful do you think he is? Present as a Buddha body: He becomes a Buddha. Therefore, I teach you that if you have the Buddha's eye in the future, you will sometimes see the Buddha come, the Bodhisattva come, or the immortal comes, or the god comes. True Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Immortals, and Gods all have light, and their light is cool, and when it shines on you, you feel very comfortable and feel less comfortable. What if it's a demon? There was a heat in him. However, this analysis can only be analyzed with great wisdom, and can judge the light of demons and Buddhas; If you don't have wisdom, you don't think that his heat is hot—certainly not as hot as fire, but there is a heat power in it. So it takes true wisdom to judge the light of demons and Buddhas.
This Mighty Demon King, who can manifest as a Buddha, will come to explain the Dharma: He will explain the Dharma to you. What do you say? How can you know that he is a demon, how can you know that he is a Buddha? They speak of the Dharma differently. What law? Non-destruction of prohibitions: "Destruction" is slander; "No," he said, "Don't keep the precepts!" The precepts are all held by the Hinayana people! Mahayana people, killing is not killing, stealing is not stealing, and fornication is not lewd, this has nothing to do with it. You didn't break the precepts when you killed, you didn't break the precepts when you stole it, and you didn't violate the precepts when you were luring, so there are no these things at all! Don't stick to that small section, don't keep this detail like this, it doesn't matter if you commit it! He said.
But this sin, before you take the precepts, everything you do is not considered a violation of the precepts. If you have received this precept, for example, you have received the precept of not killing, if you kill again, this is a violation of the precept. Why? You knowingly commit a crime. If you have received the precept not to steal and you steal again, this is a violation of the precepts; If you don't steal, you won't commit it. If you have done adultery before, you don't care, because it was in the past, and those who do not know do not sin. If you commit it again after receiving the precepts, it is a violation of the precepts. Don't lie, before you have received the precepts, you can't talk about whether you have violated the precepts or not, and you can talk nonsense. After receiving the precepts, you must not talk nonsense. Knowing is knowing, not knowing is not knowing, not knowing is not knowing, not knowing and saying not knowing. You can't beat around the bush and speak, you must be straightforward and say whatever you want. This is ordinated and then committed. So, if I don't accept this, I won't commit it, right? Because you now know that it is good to be ordained, but if you do not accept it again, then you will miss it in person. If you do not take precepts, you will not make any progress in yourself or in the Dharma. It must be done step by step, and if you know that this is good, you should take the precepts. After receiving the precepts, you must keep the precepts well and do not break them!
And this demon king specializes in breaking the precepts and not telling you to keep them. Praise for lewdness and anger: hepraiseLust: "If you have lustful desires, that is the best, the greater the lust, the higher your position as a bodhisattva!" Look at that Wu Chao Semo, doesn't he also need two or three hundred women every day? Then he practiced and became a fire-headed Vajra, so what does it matter! In fact, as soon as he praises lust like this, you should know that he is not a real Buddha, he is a demon king. He praised and angried: "Ah, that temper doesn't matter, the bigger the temper, yours."bodhiThe bigger it is. Afflictions are bodhi! If you have a lot of troubles, Bodhi will be greater. It's okay, just lose your temper!" ”
Foolishness, foolishness, most of them do things upside down. Just like the previous mention, "The foolish reincarnation is reversed, and the harmony is stubborn into 84,000 withered and chaotic thoughts", what about the situation of the foolish reincarnation being reversed by foolishness? "Spirituality turns into civil engineering and gold". This is not all the case, but occasionally there are situations where the spirit is transformed into civil engineering and gold. Then this "foolishness" will be praised by the demon king, telling you to be more foolish, the better; You are foolish, listen to its orders, join its party, and be a member of the demon king! So he rejoices in your foolishness.
It seems that recently there was a man surnamed Huang in India, who sent a book, which specifically praised "double cultivation", where men and women should practice together. This is almost a kind of magic theory! The demon king specifically praised this kind of continuous lust, saying that one can become a Buddha by constantly lustful desire. If you become a Buddha with continuous lust, that Buddha will also become impure! And the Buddha is pure. What is the most filthy and unclean? It is this lustful desire, which is the most impure thing! Therefore, when a man and a woman get married, the word "marriage", in Chinese, has a "female" side to make a dusk "dusk". This means that once you get married, you will have no wisdom, and you will live your life every day as if you are living at night, and every day is dark and unpure; Every day is like sleeping - dusk means going to sleep. Sleeping, you don't know anything, you're foolish! So in the meaning of the word China, if you study it, it makes sense! It is said that it is "dizzy", and dizziness means that there is no wisdom. That "faint", plus the word "female", not only dizzy, but also faint! So it's amazing. I said that this "jue" is not the "foot" of "hands and feet", it is"consciousness"Jue". I don't realize it, and I faint! You see, is it powerful? (The northern colloquial "jue" is pronounced as "foot")
But this is not guaranteed, it should be seen as active, not rigid. Although marriage is faint, you can understand that in this faint time, you are not confused in this faint time—Shakyamuni Buddha is also married, but his wisdom is greater than anyone else's. Therefore, if you just said that the person who eats the five spices kisses him and often lives with him, do all of us have a sense of fear? If you're not afraid, that's no problem; If you are afraid, don't eat something like Wuxin, it will naturally stay away from you. If you don't eat, the immortals and bodhisattvas will guard you, and the ghosts will run away.
Marriage, although it is said to be dizzy, can be "dizzy"; This meaning of "not feeling dizzy" means that although you are married, if you are enlightened, it is what I call "dizziness and not dizziness". You can learn from our Great Enlightened Shakyamuni Buddha, then there will be no darkness, it will be light. We are now learning wisdom from Shakyamuni Buddhism,Learn BuddhismDharma, we should use Shakyamuni Buddha as an example and a standard for us in everything. So people who get married don't have to worry, as long as you can "enter and exit the formation", understand this realm in this realm, and not be fascinated by it, it doesn't matter! I don't mean to oppose everyone getting married, I am putting forward this truth. We have to study this truth, so Guorong doesn't have to worry!
This kind of person who eats five spices, because the protectors of the heavenly immortals and the good gods of the Bodhisattva do not protect him, so the powerful demon king will be convenient; When the Demon King of Great was convenient, he manifested the body of a Buddha and came to tell him the Dharma of the Devil, praising lust, anger, and foolishness. Therefore, if such a person is deceived by the demon king, he will have no right knowledge and no true wisdom. Without true wisdom, without right knowledge and right views, what is there? There is wrong knowledge and wrong views. The demon king said that lust is good, and he also believed it: "This is what the Buddha told me! The Buddha told me that lust is okay, it doesn't matter! He also said: "It doesn't matter if you have troubles, troubles are bodhi, this is what the Buddha told me!" Originally, it was the Dharma that the demon king gave him, and he said it was the Buddha, which is called "recognizing the thief as a son, recognizing the demon king as a Buddha."
Therefore, when his life is over, he will be a relative of the demon king: when his life is over and he enjoys all the blessings in this world, he will die. If you die, where will you go? He obediently ran to the demon king and became the demon king's relatives. Why are you a member of the Demon King? Because he believed in the Dharma spoken by the demon king in his lifetime, he had a kind of wrong knowledge and wrong views.
The demon king also has his blessings, and when he receives all the blessings of the demon king, he will fall into the endless hell. Because he has evil knowledge and wrong views, he has finished being a member of the demon king's family, and the demonic blessings have been exhausted, and he should fall into the endless hell. When will it come out? No one knows!
【 Ananda! Those who practice Bodhi will forever cut off the five spices, which is called the first step of increasing practice. 】
Ānanda! Did you hear me? Bodhi practitioners: Those who practice the Bodhi path must never eat the five spices: they must not eat green onions, leeks, garlic, garlic and Xingqu. If you eat these things, you will run to the demon king; If you don't eat these things, you will come to the Buddha's family. This is called the first progression of practice: this is the first step of increasing practice on the path. What is the cause of the demon king's help? It's these five spices. Don't take it too simply! Because you have five spices, you become turbid and unclean; If it is not pure, it will be in harmony with the demon king's family. The relatives of the demon king are impure; The less pure he is, the more joyful he is.
