Don't read Huayan. I don't know the wealth of the Buddha (26)
-- Venerable Kuan Yun gave a lecture at the Western Temple's "Huayan Auspicious Puja" after fasting
And when a bodhisattva "diligently seeks the Dharma in all the Buddhas" and is practicing samadhi with a pure and deep mind, he will naturally be able to obtain seven benefits:
First, the quick trip is a wish
The second Dharma seal is the same as the Buddha's benefit
Third, virtue is beneficial to adults
Fourth, wisdom and virtue contain benefits
The fifth body is super powerful
Fourth, wisdom and virtue contain benefits
Sixth, it was for his full benefit
The seventh is to turn to the Buddha's benefit
These seven benefits are special and incredible. The meaning of "the sixth to make him complete" and "the seventh to become a Buddha" are particularly closely related to the practice of sentient beings in the sampa world, so we would like to make a special explanation here:
Sixth, it was for his full benefit:
"Buddha! The Bodhisattva Mahasattva's attainment of these ten purest and most virtuous bodies can bring about the ten perfections of sentient beings, what are the ten? One is to enable sentient beings to see the Buddha; Both can make sentient beings believe in the Buddha; The three can make sentient beings hear the Dharma; The four can make sentient beings know that there is a Buddha world; The five can make sentient beings see the transformation of the Buddha and the gods; The six can make sentient beings remember the karma they have gathered; The seven can make sentient beings calm and complete; The eight can make sentient beings enter the Buddha and be pure; The nine can make sentient beings develop bodhichitta; The ten can bring all beings to the perfection of Buddhahood."
The 10 types of perfect merits that bodhisattvas can attain by practicing sentient beings:
The first is "to enable sentient beings to see the Buddha", because we are all sentient beings, and we are all ordinary beings, so if a bodhisattva can make sentient beings see the Buddha, what a special merit it it is!
The second is that "it is not enough to make sentient beings believe in the Buddha", it is not enough to see the Buddha, but also to make sentient beings believe in the Buddha.
The third is "to make sentient beings hear the Dharma", because the Buddha has 32 aspects and 80 kinds of good forms, so sentient beings can be respectful when they see the Buddha, but the delusional minds of sentient beings really need the guidance of the Dharma, so they must "listen to the Dharma"; Then smell and act, and enlighten and cultivate.
Fourthly, "the world of Buddhahood can be known to all sentient beings", the so-called "one flower and one world, one leaf and one come", in fact, there are countless Buddhas in the ten dharma realms, such as the Amitabha Buddha's Pure Land of Bliss in the West, the Glazed Pure Land of Medicine Buddha in the East, the Pure Land of the Southern Baosheng Buddha, the Pure Land of the Non-empty Buddha in the North, and even the Pure World of the Central Buddha Bilujana, these are the Pure Land Worlds that the Bodhisattvas can let us know.
The fifth is "to enable sentient beings to see the transformation of the Buddha and the gods". "Divine change" means infinite change. For example, Shakyamuni Buddha, who has hundreds of billions of incarnations, has infinite divine changes, and his changes are based on the root nature and causes of different sentient beings, just like Guanyin Bodhisattva.
The sixth is to enable sentient beings to recite the accumulated karma, that is, to enable all sentient beings to understand the true meaning of suffering, concentration, extinction, and the path, and finally to be able to get rid of life and death, which is the purpose of the bodhisattva to transform sentient beings.
The seventh is "to make sentient beings concentrate on perfection", and the concentration must go through the practice of the three non-learnings of precepts, concentration, and wisdom, and only when we have the precepts can we be determined; Only with determination can wisdom arise; The Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are teaching us to stop delusions, keep pure vows, and stay still, so we can be settled and complete.
The eighth is "to enable sentient beings to enter the Buddha's purity", the so-called "entry" is to "enter" and "enlighten" the Buddha's knowledge, see the Buddha's true mind, and achieve the same pure state as the Buddha.
The ninth is the bodhichitta that enables sentient beings to develop bodhichitta, which is really important, and bodhichitta is the mind that attains supreme enlightenment. As the sutra says, "Forgetting bodhichitta is a demonic karma." If we don't have bodhichitta, we can't have great compassion. If we don't have great compassion, we can't learn the bodhisattva path. If you can't learn the bodhisattva path, you can't complete the Buddhahood; Because of the Buddha who is blessed and wise, he not only achieves the land, but also achieves the fruit; Therefore, a bodhisattva practitioner must be completely enlightened and complete in order to be called a Buddha.
The tenth is "to make sentient beings complete the wisdom of the Buddha", the wisdom of the Buddha is the most complete, so we study the Buddha not only to learn the practice of the Buddha, but more importantly, to learn the wisdom of the Buddha. When we practice to the same level as the wisdom of a Buddha, that is true consummation.
The text continues:
The Seventh Transformation as a Buddha Benefit:
"Buddha! The Bodhisattva Mahasattva has made sentient beings attain ten kinds of perfection, and he has done ten kinds of Buddha deeds for sentient beings, what are the ten? The so-called doing Buddha things with sound is for the sake of mature sentient beings; To do Buddha things in color and form, in order to subdue sentient beings; To remember the Buddha is for the sake of purifying sentient beings; To shake the world to do Buddha deeds, in order to free sentient beings from evil pleasures; To facilitate enlightenment and do Buddha things, so that sentient beings do not lose their thoughts; Doing Buddha deeds with the appearance in dreams is to make sentient beings perpetuate their righteous thoughts; To magnify the light to do Buddha deeds, for the general intake of all sentient beings; To practice the bodhisattva deeds as Buddha's deeds, in order to make sentient beings live and win their wishes; To do Buddha deeds with enlightenment, in order to make sentient beings know the illusion of the Dharma; To turn the wonderful * wheel to do Buddhist things, for the public to say that there is no time to lose; To do Buddha work with the current life expectancy, in order to subdue all sentient beings; To show Nirvana as a Buddha, knowing that all sentient beings are tired and tired. Buddha! It is for the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, the seventh to know all the worlds, the Buddha's solemnity, the great samadhi, the good and the skillful."
After attaining the ten perfections in their practice, a bodhisattva practitioner does not dwell in concentration and never asks about the world, but on the contrary, he wants to go deeper into the world and benefit immeasurably and sentient beings, so he uses all kinds of sounds, colors, shapes, remembrances, shaking the world, facilitating enlightenment, magnifying the light, practicing bodhisattva behavior, turning the wonderful chakra, living in life, and manifesting nirvana, so as to benefit countless sentient beings, this is the bodhisattva's "great samadhi and skillful wisdom" when he enters the world, that is, the spirit of compassion and joy.
Therefore, when we all recite the Huayan Sutra, we must understand the above truths; When we learn from the ten beliefs, the ten dwellings, the ten elements, the ten dedications, the ten grounds, the enlightenment, and the wonderful enlightenment, we will find that the stages are getting deeper and deeper and more difficult to understand, but I have already explained repeatedly that the state of Huayan is to allow us to "enter the Buddha's understanding" and understand the Buddha's birth nature, just like the Vimala Sutra. The Buddha National Product says: "Bodhisattvas take the Buddha land according to the sentient beings they incarnate, and take the Buddha land according to the sentient beings they subdue; According to the wisdom of all sentient beings to enter the Buddha, they should take the Buddha land; Depending on which country all sentient beings should take from the root of the Bodhisattva, they will take the land of the Buddha. So what? Bodhisattvas take the pure realm for the benefit of all sentient beings." His purpose is to transform all sentient beings, the so-called "those who should receive receive it, and those who should be subdued should subdue it", only in this way can we all become Buddhas together, and we can all attain the same Bodhi, and everyone can eventually become Buddhas. Therefore, when we recite the Huayan Sutra, we must understand the practice of this stage, and only when we really understand it, can we go deep into the scriptures, and wisdom is like the sea. Okay, let's fast. (To be continued)
