Gen-la Daan: Two perceptions about vegetarianism

This is also the sense of common karma among sentient beings, but how do we recognize it? Let's not think that these birds and beasts, things in the sea, animals on the earth, and poultry are taken for granted by us, not like this, we should protect it, out of compassion and filial piety, we should not eat it, why?

Here are two minimum perceptions. One realization is that the Buddha tells us that all living beings have a realitywisdomDexiang. All sentient beings are not only humane beings, but also all sentient beings of the six realms, namely the aquatic beings in the sea, the birds in the sky, and the beasts on the ground, all of whom have Buddha nature.

Since there is a Buddha nature, they are all future Buddhas, and since they are future Buddhas, we respect it, and how dare we kill it if we don't have time to respect it? How dare you eat it? This is the first cognition.

The second realization is that all sentient beings have been parents and dependents with us in the process of immeasurable eons of reincarnation, that all men are my fathers, that all women are my mothers, that all men are male animals in the animal tract, and that mothers are female animals. These male and female animals are parents to each other for life and life, so since we are parents, we must have filial piety to him, and it is too late to repay filial piety, how dare we kill him, how dare we eat him!

Then these two basic cognitions, we ordinary people do not understand, but the truth of this matter, the Buddha with the wisdom of five eyes, he saw this clearly, and told us the truth of this matter. So we have to use this insight now to generate our compassion. Do we just make a vow: I don't eat it, I want itVegetarian?

Although the peacock has a strict body, it is not as good as the wild goose to fly far. Although the white clothes have wealth and power, it is better to be a monk and meritorious.
